Calibration Numbers On All The Mash Monster Series

Hey everyone. I was wondering if the numbers for each of the Mash Monsters are known and if so what are they? I think I am ready for a level 1 and possibly a level 2 but I would have to know the numbers on a level 2 before I could say for certain. Thanks.

Nevermind. I think I just found out that the MM series cannot be calibrated as per the rules. Well, that answers that.

Jordan, while they've never been rated, we do have a good idea from many comparisons given by those who have closed them.

MM1 - High 150s like 158-159

MM2 - Low 160s like 163-165

MM3 - Low 180s like 180-183

MM4 - Mid 180s like 184-186

MM5 - Low 190s like 191-193

MM6 - High 190s like 197-199.

Anyone who has closed these grippers is welcome to weigh in and correct what I've said. These are just the best I can recall.

Those sound about right. I believe Tim said he thought that the MM7 was in the low 200's as well.

So at least a 15 pound jump from MM2 to MM3. Dang that's a wide gap. We need a MM2.5 haha.

Yeah, you can see that on the roster too! 39 guys at level 2 and only 13 at level 3.

Also consider that Rob V is the only person who ever closed the MM3 didn't go even higher. (I know Adam has not technically moved to level 4 yet, but he will, that's for sure. He got some white lights during his attempts. And Rob didn't go higher because MM3 was the highest level when he certified.)

Basically, Level 3 is the big separater!

Old thread, I know.  Do you still think these numbers are pretty close?  Seems like the newer posts were putting MM1 at 155+/-.  Mainly for my own curiosity as I can't close any of these!  Thanks!

I’m my opinion these are all a little high except the MM3. I am certified on the MM7 so I can give my estimates:

MM1 - 153

MM2 - 163/164

MM3 - 180-183

MM4 - 183-184

MM5 - 189-190

MM6 - 194

MM7 - 197/198

MM8 - 204-206 per Morgan who’s the only person to close it

Thanks Chez.  Yeah I guess you know a thing or two about grippers 🙂 Looking forward to when you crush MM8

What's your opinion on the feel of a tetting  (BB or MM) vs a CoC or GHP?  I hear the sweep feels different.  Thanks again for the input.

For most of us, ghps feel the hardest. They are wide and have a very hard set and sweep which makes them feels harder than their corresponding rating. Next for me would be cocs because they are also wide (around 3”) and a little stiff on the set and sweep. Tetting feel the easiest for me and I think many will also experience this since they are the narrowest (2.75” making them easier for smaller hands) and the set and sweep feel milder to me so this allows you to get them set easier and get the gripper in that sweet spot
