Guest woody36
Tom, Reading through the post on leverage/hammers, do you think it has any direct crossover effect on your bending ability.I have only tried it once with an 8 pound hammer down to the side of my head,i didn't have the courage to lower it to my face i'm ugly enough already. Do you find it to be a good wrist strengthener. thanks in advance. Woody.
Tom Black
I’ve always done the hammers and the nails concurrently, I was not good at either when I first started. My abilities have grown together, so it’s hard to separate the two and find out if one helps the other. My feeling is that the hammer leveraging does help the nail bending, but I don’t have any real evidence of this other than a big pile of bent stuff . I think strong wrists are a very important part of the bending, they are what translate your upper body strength to the nail. On the other hand, when I bend behind my back it seems like it’s all wrists and hands and I cannot apply much upper body power to the bend. Guest woody36
Tom, As always thanks for your reply,i think i may give them a try.I don't have an hammer yet but a solid bar with weights on one end should do the trick. I could be wrong but the way that you start bends i think requires greater wrist strength,i tried to bend a nail your way and only managed a slight bend,it was a very awkward movement for me. Thanks again Tom. Woody.
