Bill Piche
Hey, they have two models out now. Looks like the standard version of Pegasus2 is only $76. Olympic sleeve $15 more. http://www.fractionalplates.com/cgi-bin/ed...catalogno=9.
Tom of Iowa2
Looks like an interesting device...a bit different from the Formulator...IF it's really made out of stainless steel that adds some expense$$ to the fabricating process. Stainless is expensive stuff. But whats with all the references to "pegasus"the flying horse and mythology. I took a mythology class. Once. Nobody on the forum has one? Roark
I have heard good things about the Formulator also, but considering (judging from the ads) composition and other factors, especially price, I ordered a Peg2 this morning. After I receive it and have used it, I will report on it.

Gerald
Not yet. It's looking like next week or the week after. I'll post a review shortly thereafter, for sure.
Roark
There were dozens of orders ahead of me, so it will be soon-week or two. I have been getting back into wrist curls in preparation for the Peg2. Today got 2 sets of 5 reps with 170- staying light and playing it safe because I am tired injuring my wrist. I will report after it arrives and I use it. kimwood
Arthur Jones used to say "a man gives you a roadmap to his soul..." Following the introduction of the Nautilus machines there came an interesting phenomenon... the "second handers"... the schlocky rip-off guys...Ed Jubinville with his silly stick-steel "Scorpio" machines, Pearl and Stern's almost but never marketed "Lark" machines, the mysterious George Snyder's "Olympus" machines from Warrington,Pa., Andy Gropp's machines, the Lambert sisters' Dyna-Cam winners, the Simonson brothers' Eagle machines(later to become Cybex),George Turner's stuff out of St. Louis, Clark's Iron Company/Polaris from San Diego, Pete Grymkowski's Orange Ave. Gym "originals" out of Milo's old gym in Orlando, Body-Masters from the Bayou state...and many many more... The men who manufactured these were all interesting stories...but the interesting case study was the guys who bought 'em...what were they thinkin'? Gonna stick it Jones? Gonna get quality on the cheap? Gonna beat the dealer(don't like his advertising)? I like 'em 'cause they appeal to my "poor boy's pocketbook"? Who knows? A study of History(even real "Iron History")is always valuable... and it's still the weak and the strong... and those who follow(who always seem to follow)

A study of History(even real "Iron History")is always valuable... and it's still the weak and the strong... and those who follow(who always seem to follow) Does your study include companies like Ivanko, Eleiko or did they "invent" the barbell. If your point is that the original is always the best quality I think you will likely find examples where you are wrong. I realize your son is selling the Formulator, hence your post here. Is your point that PDA is making inferior products? Or is this about knock offs. Your son sells IM grippers, did they invent grippers? or are those knock offs of someone else's product? I for one really like the IM gripers and love the new Tettings with the sharp knurling. I find that having multiple sources for things provides competition for price, quality, and value. Those that lack in one of those areas tend to fail. Not always.... Greg
kimwood
my point is "second handers" are second handers... and followers are followers cut the crap and go with the best(of course, you are free do what you want...go down in the basement and whip up your own "Formulator" and get on the boards and crow and smirk...I sure don't care... like the man said..."a man gives you are roadmap to his soul...") Roark
Some things are on the cheap and are therefore a rip-off. Some things are a rip-off at the other end of expense. Some things are made too cheaply; some are overpriced. A wise shopper compares. If I were more handy, I would make my own - this isn't rocket science. The review comparing the Formulator to the PDA product, with the PDA coming slightly ahead (could I tell the difference if I were blind-folded?). And by comparing ads, I decided to go with PDA to save some money. If a very similar product was available for $50- and I suspect it could be if it were made from cheaper materials- I would have bought it.
Scott Styles
If someone in the Chicagoland area ends up getting one of these, I would be interested in meeting up to compare it to my Formulator. We could get a couple guys together and do a review with pics or something like that. Having now used the Formulator, I'm not convinced it has any advantages over a device like PDA is offering. Slider454
Go with the best, Gentlemen... quit belly-aching and get to work Alright lets put this into perspective......If I were to buy the best in everything thing related to grip and lower forearm strength just how much dough would one have to put up to purchase this stuff.....think about it every block weight made from york blobs...what would that run you....is using hex heads going to kill my training of course not......if your saying buy the more expensive stuff is the best....okay lets say I buy a hammer from wall mart for the srict purpose of hammering nails......Why would I buy one that costs $30 from a hardware store rather than buying the cheapo from Walmart that costs $8....its going to do just what I want it to do....the more expensive one holds no advantages over the other so why shell it out.....Just like gamidon said competition keeps the price down......its like tools buy snap-on or craftsman....they both have the same warranty but one cost 3 times more money than the other!!!! as for me I dont think I will ever have a formulator just for the price of it......
