For instance you need a plate loaded pulley machine and a partner to add more and more weight.Then you have alot of weight on the negative portion of the curl as well.BTW these would be done on a preacher bench. I don't think I quite get what your trying to describe....but what I always do is holds for time and then some partial reps, and then every now and then bump the weight up to where its all negative and no positive movement.
