MVillani1985
Maybe I posted here a few years ago about this, but either way, I think it's time for an update. In order of difficulty and including comparisions to one another. Two store bought grippers CoC Guide CoC Sport CoC Trainer BB Advanced (0.5) CoC #1 BB Super Advanced (1.3) BB Master (1.8) CoC #2 BB Super Master (2.4) BB Grand Master (2.7) CoC #3 BB Elite (3.2) BB Super Elite (3.5) BB Grand Elite (3.7) CoC #4 BB Pro BB World Class BB Galaxy BB Super Galaxy BB Universe As far as I'm concerned, the Universe and probably the Super Galaxy are just collector's items. The old Galaxy (which has the same spring size as the old RBWT at .375) may have use as a chest crusher but not much more, and I probably won't even close the World Class or the Pro with anything but a chest crush, although I may turn out to be better than I thought at grip training and close that Pro, but I'm not as optimistic as I was when I was a wide-eyed newbie, thrilled at how quickly I was making progress. In all likelihood, the highest gripper I'll close is the #4, and that's only if I continue to show the dedication that I show now. But my goal is to become a CoC of the #3, #3.5, #4, and close the MM grippers here. Edited March 11, 2010 by MVillani1985
tselegala
COC 1 : warm up COC 2: useless except for fingertip closes COC 2.5 :useless COC 3: reps COC 3.5: goal COC 4: negatives and next goal i certainly don't need any more ''in between grippers''...i have 2 imtugs but they are also useless... BroodingMoon
CoC T CoC #1 CoC #1 filed CoC 1.5 CoC #2 CoC 2.5 CoC #3 All have been closed, I think I'll further the CoC collection soon so I can train negatives. I might get another #2 to file or I might save money and file the one I already have. :P Also thinking about getting/making some sort of choker too. It might be a good idea to have two of each gripper if you're going to do BTR training, since the gripper in its original form has its uses still, for example, attempts at closing the gripper with no set or with a wider set than you usually use. Also, since you can close the #3, I'd reccomend getting some BB grippers in addition to a #3.5 and a #4, you need all the in between steps you can get on the journey to the #4. I can't afford to buy 2 of every gripper, I can get maybe 1 or 2 more for the time being - so I'm thinking a 3.5 and either a #2 or #4. Anyway I rarely train grippers, other goals take priority. Thanks for the advice nonetheless.

graeme
5 in total IM #2 BB Master, Super Elite, World Class and Galaxy... Galaxy is used to help with bending practice, for the final crush. Can close the #2 and BB master, time to file one of them down for some BTR work, along with using some extention handles on the WC to do negitives etc. Might be time to purchase some more
Malice
I just ordered the BBSA 5/8" and BBM 5/8" from Gripper Superstore. I'm thinking about picking up the 5/8" beef builders cuz they seem to fill in the gap for the CoC's. I might also get all the T series Warren Tetting grippers since I read that he's getting older and doesn't have anyone to continue making them when he's done. Malice
Tetting T series 1- 14 Where did you find a T14? I've only seen up to T13
Tim71
I'd be curious on that as well. The T13 has the big 1/2 inch spring. Tim
Tim71
Oh I see what the deal is. There isn't a .394 spring galaxy anymore so they used to be a T14 but now it's the T13. The T13 used to be the .437 super galaxy but now that's the T12 the the T12 used to be the .394 galaxy but that's done away with. The Natural
It's too bad that nobody has used these self reports and documented any correlation between number of grippers and strength level. That data might offer a valuable lesson. Edited April 28, 2010 by The Natural
