  2. That one was marked as out of tolerance I believe. There should be a slash through the Fe. It was slated to be taken apart and the handles reused but then @dubyagrip hit me up looking for that exact thing for a client. It pays to be training with Jay!

  4. Got some more grippers and had them rated by Matt @Cannon - stoked! Now all of the GHP tags match the handles, hehe I'm a nerd like that. It's great having my grippers RGC rated now. Instead of playing guesswork, I know exactly what I can close and what I cannot. Matt is super cool, looking forward to doing more business with him... I also picked up a left turn #2, which happened to be rated exactly the same as my regular COC 2 at 103 lbs ... Pretty cool!

  13. I had to admit that at my advanced age and with my various injuries, not to mention just medium-sized hands, that it isn't likely I'll ever be able to lift a full-weight Inch replica. So after a long search for baby Inches, I gave up trying to find one in the US, and I ordered a 66 kilo (mine weighs slightly more, about 146 pounds) from Gods of Grip in the UK. The dumbbell itself is just okay. The dimensions are spot on, but the handle is welded to the globes, and the weld makes getting a good grip harder than it should be, but the texture is pretty good. The service from Gods of Grip wasn't good. When they show the dumbbell to be "In Stock", that means that they have access to the components, but it still needs to be made and painted and shipped. They repeatedly underestimated how long it would take. I ordered it on 12/1/23, and didn't get it until 1/19/24, when I was originally told it would arrive before Christmas. I ordered a couple of the only other size (28 kilos) they had "In Stock" on 12/12/23. I finally got one of them on 2/7/24; Fedex lost the other one. I didn't get the refund for the lost one until 4/11/24. The owners seem like nice people, and they put on grip competitions and promote Grip Sport, which is good, but they constantly over-promised and under-delivered. If you order one of their baby Inch replicas, plan on being very, very patient. As this played out, a Grip board member posted about a guy in South Carolina who was starting to make baby Inch replicas! He (Zack Staniewicz) had a prototype with a 2-5/8" handle which I bought. The ones he will make in the future will have the 2-3/8" handle. He sent it out quickly and the quality, even on a prototype, was much better. It was cast in all one piece, so there are no welds on the handle. If I had known he was going to start making them, I never would have ordered the one from Gods of Grip. Zack will be making a few different sizes, and he is also making a handle and some rounded plates that will replicate the handle and rounded inside edges of an Inch, but it is plate-loaded. That should give the feel of a real Inch with the advantage of being able to adjust the weight, and I think he'll be selling those for less than $100. A much more affordable option for Inch Dumbbell training. I think he'll be making several sizes of the Inch replicas, including baby Inches, full-weight ones, and even heavier ones. Great to see that happening here in the US. He can be reached at 914-426-0764 or email zstan3@aol.com Domedude

  17. Hey there @matek - thanks a lot! For GHPs I am only lacking a 9. I have two 4s now actually, one RGC 85 (off the charts low) and one 95 which is on the higher side. It's nice to have a wide spread of ratings for training. I'm working on getting dupes of them all if possible (so far I've got an extra 2, 4, 5 and 8, soon to get another 6). Not trying to hoard them all, I just love to collect if I come across the right deal.

  21. I had to stay on them about the cannonball...but the accuracy of their dates seemed better with the baby inch so I thought they were improving. Guess not. For what it's worth...on smaller stuff it seems a bit faster...perhaps because they have some inventory already made. And that stuff being lighter...the boxes arrive in much better shape than the heavy stuff.

  33. Volume Bending Day 4 170mm bastards and 4 170mm shinys Pretty much all the exact same 6 hit cadence except maybe a couple shinys needed one more final crush hit. Had a kiddo with me so worked through them fast and needed no re-wraps, just pulled one side and finished with a crush pad on that side. The last shiny, I did strip the outer wraps to practice a wrap around gripper crush, but despite getting a little more used to it lately I don’t think it’s ready to use in an important situation yet. But I’ll keep trying to get it added as a tool to try crush arsenal! Also started sorting the Da Vinci Batch challenge bars for everyone who earned them in ACE, they should be hitting the streets next week!!!

  39. I wouldn't have minded as much, but they kept telling me info that turned out not to be true. If they said something would be done tomorrow, that turned into a week or two. If they said a week, it turned into at least 2-3 weeks. I think they may need an extra set of hands and may not yet have quite the revenue they need to hire someone, but that's just a guess. I do have to say that they put on grip competitions, and in some ways I think they do it better than the competitions over here.

  43. Pull Day (yesterday) Kept it pretty chill partly since I didn’t want any deadlift recovery issues for Monday and partly because I spent my workout time cutting and grinding steel Started with a superset of pull-ups and stiff leg deadlifts with 203 lb kettlebell. Three rounds of 5 reps each. Then came inside and did meek swings, 50 reps normal and then two sets of 20 with my pinkies off the end. Last was a set of 12 each side with a 95 pound barbell row and that was all she wrote. Not a lot of weights lifted, but a lot of steel cut and grinded. I made an O-1 drill rod 7” barehand progression from C-K and cut thr bars for today and Mondays sessions plus a few random cuts I’d been meaning to get to!

  45. Push Day Got off to a rocky start but finished nice and strong!!! Started with a Bench AMRAP at 225 for an IG contest being run by Jimmy Kolb. Every year during the NFL combine I do a 225 AMRAP pretending I’m there, so it’s nice to get to do an official one!!! I was feeling strong on the warmups but sadly under-executed and got 16 reps despite benching pretty consistently lately. Was hoping for low 20s or at least 18 to tie last combine I didn’t submit it yet, and will retry next week and hopefully make 16 seem puny!!! Next up was a barbell kneeling press and kettlebell z press superset. 155x3 bar and 70x2 kb per set. These went great and knew I was right about being strong despite the bench result. So time let out the leash a bit and go for some cool lifts Started with a kneeling bent press using a 110 pound circus dumbbell with massive 12” globes. I’ve done it standing before but never went for it kneeling til today, and it was one of my cooler looking lifts in a while!!! Only succeeded righty as lefty I wasn’t able to muscle that big boy into a nice starting position. I actually think my left handed bent press is more aesthetic but doesn’t mean much if you can’t get the weight into position to begin with still, getting it right handed was mega cool! And for the grand finale, a lift that’s evaded me for a long time, the double 45kg Holle Inch dumbbells incline press!!! I’ve never been able to kick them into position before but finally managed it and then was so surprised I forgot I had to press them still haha so botched the first press and recovered for a double. Then I came back and kicked them up and hit a proper set of 5 and quit a winner!!!

  47. Heavy and Almost Volume Bending Day This was the big setup session for Horrido 6.5” 10.9 cert attempt next Monday, so of course there was a million obstacles, including hardass steel Warmups maybe lacked some pop but nothing to get in a fit over then it was onto 2-3 170mm R O-1 bends and 2-3 170mm Edgins. First R bend went smooth enough although not the smoke show of last weeks somewhat shorter R. But then parent ESP or something must’ve gone off and I went full rush just to the next R, just re-sliding the wraps from the previous bend and taking no rest (at the time I was justifying it that I’ll need to be ready for 5 straight hard minutes against the 6.5” 10.9) … and alas despite the bend going fine enough I was starting to get slowed down by the crush et voilà off goes the baby monitor. I stretched the kiddo a bit, but it was too tough a spot to be able to get it finished before getting him. After a little rest to fetch him, I relocated to the basement gym(I typically bend in the garage) and tried like hell to get that R moving again and finished off. It was a long slow process but eventually the last two cm gave way and I was able to complete the bend and call it the isometrics for the session as well After fighting that battle I didn’t fret about leaving it at 2 R’s and moving onto the 170mm Edgins. I don’t have clamps in the basement gym so I foot rolled three cut Edgins in a row!!! First one felt like air after the R crush, but the by the third one I was getting pretty worn out and got it quite off center, but I had flashbacks to the R crush and in an effort to avoid a repeat I just overpowered the little guy and got it done (if it got properly stuck I’m not sure I had another war in me). Next up (and last up since I counted the second R as an iso finale as well) was barehand 7” C drill rod. But I was unable to muster any power and only had a bit of wobble after two hits so threw on 1/3 imps and took it down while trying to emulate my barehand style. That was a steel bending session!!!!!!!

  48. Monday He came, he saw, he kicked b**t! I did all I needed to to prep for the Hatfield Squat. That included a double Ristretto before and another gratis gym coffee on arrival. My go to music playing as I walked to the gym and a little (2x) stretching Sunday. Hatfield Squat Bar x 8 reps, 140kg x 8 reps, 230kg x 6 reps (*support belt only), 350kg/770lbs x 1 (PB), 360kg/792lbs x 1 (PB) and 370-kg/814lbs x 1 (PB) rep. All heavy sets with the super duper new belt and Inzer red/black knee wraps (had a harder set of Cerberus Extreme wraps but didn't use them with me). To ensure no issues I was using a set of thin collars and hammered them tight. The only issues was worrying about the bar bending and it was harder to unrack than squat. I nearly went to 380kg/836lbs but called it a day. Little bit dizzy after. Leg Press Decided to forgo this Lying Leg Curls to 16p x 5 reps Leg Extensions to stack x 12 reps Bwt: 320lbs

  49. If you guys saw the detail Matt goes into to calibrate these things, you wouldn't doubt the numbers. And for crying out loud, he cross calibrated the 165 #3 with Acorn, and it was within 1.5lb's... The #4 that Matt calibrated was calibrated by two other guys later, and BOTH of their numbers were HIGHER than Matt's. All the facts say the numbers are accurate.
