A little bit of history that might clear up some of this. Back in 2022, we received an entire shipment of Fe springs where the specifications were wrong and all of them were way too wide to be made into Fe grippers. The way we realized it was when Tom assembled a bunch of inventory and I started rating them and the numbers were way off. So those Fe grippers that were already glued together were sold as “errors” like what Derek has. Remember, Tom was 1st gen and glued handles. So then we had to figure out what to do with the springs and we purposefully used some of them to make the Tetting Tributes. That is like the gripper stranger is talking about. They had pinned handles, rather large bevels, no stamps, and were a limited edition. Tom also made those and was not very efficient with pinning the handles so the expense was higher. Then Tom passed away and we had to find a new production shop for standard. Since the middle of 2023, we have used the same wide springs to make Nickel with the pinned handles. That gripper of Derek‘s is basically a first generation Nickel with glued handles before we called the gripper Nickel.5 points

That one was marked as out of tolerance I believe. There should be a slash through the Fe. It was slated to be taken apart and the handles reused but then @dubyagrip hit me up looking for that exact thing for a client. It pays to be training with Jay!5 points

Got some more grippers and had them rated by Matt @Cannon - stoked! Now all of the GHP tags match the handles, hehe I'm a nerd like that. It's great having my grippers RGC rated now. Instead of playing guesswork, I know exactly what I can close and what I cannot. Matt is super cool, looking forward to doing more business with him... I also picked up a left turn #2, which happened to be rated exactly the same as my regular COC 2 at 103 lbs ... Pretty cool!4 points

Only some cardio today 60min stationary bike, 24.26km, resistance 16-21 According to the measurements I've burned almost 1500 kcal, which is obviously a big fat lie. But probably over 1000. Not that it really matters3 points

I had to admit that at my advanced age and with my various injuries, not to mention just medium-sized hands, that it isn't likely I'll ever be able to lift a full-weight Inch replica. So after a long search for baby Inches, I gave up trying to find one in the US, and I ordered a 66 kilo (mine weighs slightly more, about 146 pounds) from Gods of Grip in the UK. The dumbbell itself is just okay. The dimensions are spot on, but the handle is welded to the globes, and the weld makes getting a good grip harder than it should be, but the texture is pretty good. The service from Gods of Grip wasn't good. When they show the dumbbell to be "In Stock", that means that they have access to the components, but it still needs to be made and painted and shipped. They repeatedly underestimated how long it would take. I ordered it on 12/1/23, and didn't get it until 1/19/24, when I was originally told it would arrive before Christmas. I ordered a couple of the only other size (28 kilos) they had "In Stock" on 12/12/23. I finally got one of them on 2/7/24; Fedex lost the other one. I didn't get the refund for the lost one until 4/11/24. The owners seem like nice people, and they put on grip competitions and promote Grip Sport, which is good, but they constantly over-promised and under-delivered. If you order one of their baby Inch replicas, plan on being very, very patient. As this played out, a Grip board member posted about a guy in South Carolina who was starting to make baby Inch replicas! He (Zack Staniewicz) had a prototype with a 2-5/8" handle which I bought. The ones he will make in the future will have the 2-3/8" handle. He sent it out quickly and the quality, even on a prototype, was much better. It was cast in all one piece, so there are no welds on the handle. If I had known he was going to start making them, I never would have ordered the one from Gods of Grip. Zack will be making a few different sizes, and he is also making a handle and some rounded plates that will replicate the handle and rounded inside edges of an Inch, but it is plate-loaded. That should give the feel of a real Inch with the advantage of being able to adjust the weight, and I think he'll be selling those for less than $100. A much more affordable option for Inch Dumbbell training. I think he'll be making several sizes of the Inch replicas, including baby Inches, full-weight ones, and even heavier ones. Great to see that happening here in the US. He can be reached at 914-426-0764 or email zstan3@aol.com Domedude3 points

Hey there @matek - thanks a lot! For GHPs I am only lacking a 9. I have two 4s now actually, one RGC 85 (off the charts low) and one 95 which is on the higher side. It's nice to have a wide spread of ratings for training. I'm working on getting dupes of them all if possible (so far I've got an extra 2, 4, 5 and 8, soon to get another 6). Not trying to hoard them all, I just love to collect if I come across the right deal.2 points

I do the tyre drag every time I train the evening. I think it has helped my busted knees a fair bit. I have done Kb leg ext before but not for ages . I’m struggling to get the gym in a member of to use the leg kit so I thought I’d just improvise. They hit in a wierd way. Give a go & see what you think . Let me know.2 points

@Cannon made a few grippers for a Tribute to Warren Tetting. (i think) Basically pinned Standards with big bevels . No stamps on the bottom. Heres me closing the 156 https://www.instagram.com/p/CpiAvSoAfDS/?igsh=enRvbGVnZ3UxaXF12 points

I had to stay on them about the cannonball...but the accuracy of their dates seemed better with the baby inch so I thought they were improving. Guess not. For what it's worth...on smaller stuff it seems a bit faster...perhaps because they have some inventory already made. And that stuff being lighter...the boxes arrive in much better shape than the heavy stuff.2 points

If I had to list my top priorities it would be- Snapping (Tomajko style thigh crush) Classic underhand bending (like 1" space between pads) And horseshoes (most important). The rest would be armwrestling and physique related.2 points

Inc Db bench just trying to be a Swoldier. Roller 1arm rows were pretty good. Nice feel in the lat. Cable press downs only light but target tri nicely. Plate hub pinch has become a bit of a quest for me. I want to be able to pinch a 20k plate. Still shocking at them . Added the band as I remember that being a way to bridge between weights & Phatmuscle used to bang on about them lol. All in all a half decent sess. Got some work done & enjoyed it. My Roller handle cable row set up My sophiscated band set up . Worked ok to be honest .2 points

Thanks, that's probably exactly what I needed to hear after placing an order where I went with Standard instead of Left Turn. If a mule kicks me in the head and I somehow decide I need even more grippers, Left Turn might go back into consideration.1 point

It's definitely more comfortable to close them left handed, but I'm not sure they are "must haves". Pretty sure I have a T,1 & 3 in left turns, I havent closed the 3 yet (LH)1 point

Sorry you had such a bad experience. I've had to wait a while for their stuff...a cannonball got lost...and my baby inch miraculously arrived in a completely blown out box. But I always gave them the benefit of the doubt because they replaced the lost item and generally provided good customer service.1 point

Well 1. because you actually look like you can close the grippers you can close, You're a big dude like me and despite the amount of cope that is going around muscle does matter for grippers whether its forearm muscle for closing or chest and shoulder muscle for setting And 2. its because you haven't gained that degree of supposed strength in that short amount of time, If all things were equalised you'd be closing GHP 10 Also why is it only trolling when its something you disagree with1 point

Because he went from a 140 rgc deep set to a 220 rgc card set in a single year, That warrants further investigation and scrutiny1 point

I agree, I remember just last November people couldn't believe the level one could be at while being at such a low bw. It seems the skepticism dissipated the longer it went. I myself am curious to see someone verify these grippers and witness him close it irl. Not much to ask for tbh, would be nice to clear the air up. Its been 25 years after all I would hope people have learned from history that such feats should be subject to questions and verifiable proof. Otherwise there would seem to be no real reason to be doing any of this...1 point
-
The only video that made me question is this one: he looks to push the gripper open at the end because it didn’t open all the way. Not saying it’s a fake, but shady imo.1 point
-
@Tiziano Becchio has completed the CoC #3.5 cert on video while opening up the gripper in the video then completed several other grip certs all around 3.5 strength or higher. I don't really know what else people want from him. Could it be fake? Yea, everything you see through a screen and not in person could be. Beside his size is there anything that really makes this questionable? Great job @Tiziano Becchio1 point
-
Its not projecting insecurity its trying to keep the community clean from people malding gripper closes they have no business touching but aight we can accept an echochamber where no countering opinions can be made1 point
-
All this forearm muscle that me and you and Ivan and carl and david have is purely for show and its entirely the tendon's job to move the gripper handles closed via some phantom force, Tbh the proof that tiziano provided was that he couldn't close the grippers that carl sent to him, And i think that the rules on this board have made people too scared to call out people's feats1 point
-
I don't mean to start another political shpeel in this fine thread but i find its pretty funny how people can critique carl for his certification but a 60kg guy closes a gripper 1lb heavier than carl's all time CCS close and absolutely no one questions it Just some food for thought1 point

Not only is your gripper strength absolutely legendary, but I think you’re ready to attempt a cert on the 4. That hasn’t been done since 2012 I believe… A cert on the 4 by the new rules would absolutely shock the grip world and motivate quite a few fellow gripsters (me included).1 point
