  1. Planks. Bastard in IMPs. Just wanted to get something bent...right index is jacked. Its ripped underneath a callous. I may have to remove the whole thing. Regardless...its in a very inconvenient place for bending. In better news...palm tear is mending. Sooo...not really a workout today...just greasing the groove.

  2. OK, here we go.... Dear steel bending gentleman, we have a new Cert in the books. Very happy to have this bend on the list. It was one of the reasons for me to create this cert: see the best bends possible. It is one of the best bends in steel bending history - in my opinion it´s probably the best one till now. Alexander Klimovich could bend the 12.9 bolt today. This is a huge bend only a few will understand. Huge Congrats to Alexander. The list was updated: https://www.horrido-bending.com/cert-list And here is the Video (unfortunatley not the best video because of sun and shadow games, but make sure to watch it on the computer with bright light and you can see everything!) Maybe we will see another 12.9 cert in the near future from also one of the best benders from the other side of the world!? Or can anyone bend this bolt shorter? Who knows!?

  3. I'm new to bending and wondering if anyone had some insight for short steel bending mobility? I feel my positioning is limited by lack of mobility. Any insight would be helpful! Thank you.

  4. Great to see that Alexander is also in! Great display of power! But I'm pretty sure that Derek has the right answer to this in the near future...

On a side note; I’m actually started to be able to supinate my hands by forcing the position for axle curls. 8. inb4 @Donc101 describing swinging clubs (which is incredibly useful - he and @Andrew Dube are both much better with them than I am). The most crucial pieces for me are a resistance band, a piece of 3/4" polycarbonate rod, and a set of 2-pound clubs. My pre-bending mobility work typically goes like this: - 10 banded face pulls on my squat stand - drop the band to nose height, grab the band with both hands, step back, and row toward your face. - A round of club-swinging - 3-5 DO hits on a polycarb bar wrapped up like I'm going to bend it. I'll do 3 rounds, using a 7" polycarb the first time, 8" the second, and 9" the third. I find I'm fairly loosey goosey after that. I'll usually finish with some mace swinging and pullovers. I use a loadable mace, but you can get good results using a sledgehammer. I'm fairly immobile but this gets me loose enough to hit 7" bars confidently. I've also used 8" stock to warm up and as long as I work the 9" polycarb a little longer this gets me loose enough for that, too.

  9. Really cool idea! I'll be jumping in here soon with a submission. Tried strict curl for the first time ever yesterday, and it was a definite disappointment (weak). But, with some reps in, I think it'll improve.

  11. I did some the other day. Didn’t have time to film it and had no idea where’d I would max anyway, but it was definitely tough on the hands. I’ve been doing DB concentration curls with fat grips for a while so that seemed to help with familiarity.

  12. I'd like to clarify my intentions for my previous posts: 1. I'm far from an expert and genuinely thought hand size mattered more for the particular comparison that was being made. I now know better since you guys informed me. 2. I had no intention of posting something controversial. 3. I only mentioned hand size because we compared Carl to Nathan and I must've gotten Carl mixed up with someone else's hand size (another really big guy) and because I was under the assumption that the previous two points were true/relevant to the discussion. 4. All this does not equal me thinking Carl is weak, I think he's one of the absolute strongest I've ever seen in grip, regardless of hand size and how relevant or irrelevant it may be. 5. I personally don't think it's controversial to compare different physical attributes in athletes, I just think it's interesting. Nothing is meant to demean or reduce anyone's accomplishments. I care way more about absolute strength and not bodyweight in relation to strength feats. That said, if I saw a 150 lbs relatively small guy bench 500 lbs with no arch, I think his size/build would be worth talking about in relation to the feat. Especially if we're comparing it to someone far bigger. This was not relevant in this threads comparison, I learned later in the discussion, about Carl since he actually doesn't have very big hands + hand size wasn't as relevant as I believed for the lift in question. Hope that makes sense. Have a nice day guys!

  13. So a tree went down on our fence yesterday...so I got in 3 hours of Yardio! Ha...finally used it. This morning I awoke beat the hell up. Maybe I should take a day off? Hahahaha. Bw squats. Glute bridges. Bastard in IMPs. Warm up. "Q" 0-1 DR @ 8 3/8" in IMPs. Oddly enough, for as beat up I feel...it went like cake. 2 or 3 less hits than my best. "R" 0-1 DR @ 8 3/8" in 1.5 IMPs. I managed 25 degrees before pulling something in my upper back. After that, I could not harness any power. Maybe the wifey will put an elbow into the knot. I didnt have to bend today, but if you dont allow yourself to fail...you also dont allow yourself to succeed.

  14. Bastard was from 7/23. Gold from 7/26. Gold video is VERY NSFW. If you're new and confused by my commentary then listen to my podcast episode @Beyond the Bend Podcast! It was shared in his thread. Honestly felt like crap on 7/26. This was the lone good bend. It'll go down in single leathers soon (maybe next workout) but I'm still a little ways off of IMPs, especially since mine are brand new. Enjoy!

  15. Definitely interested in this but not excited about the 12 hour drive. Last year seemed like such a good time tho so I'm going to strongly consider making the trek

  16. I remembered this thread and went searching and found it. I can't believe it's 9-10 years old. I remember it being more of a "What characters from movies or literature have a strong grip?" discussion. Anyway, I'm reading Bram Stoker's Dracula right now and, so far, they have mentioned Count Dracula's hands and/or his prodigious hand strength in every chapter!

  17. This is such an ego lift lol. At my gym I've seen a few guys close a #3 and one guy lift close to 100kg on the RT with little to no training on the handle. But I've yet to find someone who can strict curl a 15kg plate. It's nice to be good at something in a house of monsters lol.

  18. In a recent episode of "Deadwood", the HBO mini series, there was an old miner doing levers w/a sledgehammer on a stage show.
