  1. OK, here we go.... Dear steel bending gentleman, we have a new Cert in the books. Very happy to have this bend on the list. It was one of the reasons for me to create this cert: see the best bends possible. It is one of the best bends in steel bending history - in my opinion it´s probably the best one till now. Alexander Klimovich could bend the 12.9 bolt today. This is a huge bend only a few will understand. Huge Congrats to Alexander. The list was updated: https://www.horrido-bending.com/cert-list And here is the Video (unfortunatley not the best video because of sun and shadow games, but make sure to watch it on the computer with bright light and you can see everything!) Maybe we will see another 12.9 cert in the near future from also one of the best benders from the other side of the world!? Or can anyone bend this bolt shorter? Who knows!?

  2. So the knots in my back are still prevelant, despite satan's ahem my wife's best efforts at painfully knocking them out. Bw squats. Glute bridges. Planks? No cause I'm slacking. Red in 2/3 IMPs. Red in 1/2 IMPs. "R" 0-1 DR in 1.5 IMPs. I gave up at 21 degrees. I think general fatigue and my knotted upper back prevented more movement. Not gonna beat myself up over it. It's a process dammit! Red in 1/3 IMPs. Barely any movement. Whatever energy I had went into that R fail. All and all, I "feel" there is a lot of hidden progress going on. When I'm thoroughly rested without tears...watch out. I'm 48yo today. It would be nice to cert gold by my 50th birthday. Might seem a little long range as goals go...but that will only make success sweeter.

  3. I'd like to clarify my intentions for my previous posts: 1. I'm far from an expert and genuinely thought hand size mattered more for the particular comparison that was being made. I now know better since you guys informed me. 2. I had no intention of posting something controversial. 3. I only mentioned hand size because we compared Carl to Nathan and I must've gotten Carl mixed up with someone else's hand size (another really big guy) and because I was under the assumption that the previous two points were true/relevant to the discussion. 4. All this does not equal me thinking Carl is weak, I think he's one of the absolute strongest I've ever seen in grip, regardless of hand size and how relevant or irrelevant it may be. 5. I personally don't think it's controversial to compare different physical attributes in athletes, I just think it's interesting. Nothing is meant to demean or reduce anyone's accomplishments. I care way more about absolute strength and not bodyweight in relation to strength feats. That said, if I saw a 150 lbs relatively small guy bench 500 lbs with no arch, I think his size/build would be worth talking about in relation to the feat. Especially if we're comparing it to someone far bigger. This was not relevant in this threads comparison, I learned later in the discussion, about Carl since he actually doesn't have very big hands + hand size wasn't as relevant as I believed for the lift in question. Hope that makes sense. Have a nice day guys!

  4. My second submission- 126lb IM Axle Strict curl. I need to train this lift to get better going forward as it is very hard for this cat. Hope to see more entries as Durry has a fun/challenging contest if you give it a try. Mucho respect to Durry for his 138 strict curl, which is very strong.

  5. Just stating the hand size with no other info as people seemed to think he has very large hands. I dont give a shit how big anyones hands are just lift whatever you can lift. There are some things not feasible (facelifting blobs, etc) but most issues are weakness. If you can lift it with two hands using the same hand placement then one hand just isn't strong enough.

  6. Great chest and biceps session tonight. Not perfect but I’ll take it. Lost power due to the storm yesterday so I had to go into the office and didn’t get there until 10:30 cause I was waiting for permission to make sure a computer was even available because everyone is working from home. I planned to leave straight from work but left my wrist wraps at home again (argh!) so I had to drive back home then the to the gym so I didn’t get there until late and lifted till close. Bench Press 3 warm ups 225 lbs - 2x 250 lbs - 2x 275 lbs - 2x 305 lbs - 2x but on the second the spotter had to lightly put his finger tips on the bar. Argh. I knew I felt tired on the previous sets cause the weight wasnt popping off my chest like it has been. Also I set up to close to the pins and that thew me off. Oh well I’ll repeat the weight next week and try and get the double clean. 255 lbs - 8x. Back off set for volume Incline Bench 185 lbs - 3x 225 lbs - 3x 270 lbs - 2x. Got a bad lift off from a young spotter. He was aggressive with the help and threw it too far forward on me and dumped it on me and I had to reign it in. 225 lbs - 7x. Back off set for volume Incline Hammer strength Press 270 lbs in plates - 3 sets of 8x, 5x and 5x. Just wanted more volume Pec Deck Flys 180 lbs - 10x 195 lbs - 10x 210 lbs - 8x 225 lbs - 8x Single Arm Machine Bicep Curls 2 warm ups 180 lbs (max weight) - 4 sets of 8x each arm. I’ll try and up the reps next week

  11. I respond well to high frequency specificity dominate programs as long as I: watch the daily/weekly volume; alternate daily the target movement (e.g. flexors, extensors, deviation, rotation, support work/static holds, etc.); and insure to complete my daily active recovery (bmx hill cycling; swimming; sauna/steam/cold pool). Been almost two years and I have gained over 2" so it is working for me. I know a few top-level arm wrestlers; grip strength athletes; professional sailing grinders; and world champion kendo athletes that all train their grip and/or forearms daily sometimes multiple times.

  12. What’s your thinking behind the high frequency, lowish volume forearm work? You find it superior in terms of muscle gain? Or you just enjoy it? nice log! love the heavy 3x6 Chuck Sipes wrist curls

  14. I agree. I like to believe its true, because Nathan is super strong and he's been very kind to me when answering questions and giving advice. Very nice person. But will not know for certain until a video surfaces.

  16. Really great gym session today. My wrist is feeling so much better. I have had trouble closing 180+ because the wrist has been so bad I couldn’t set grippers that hard but today I blew past it. 19. Thank you for the detailed response! While my main focus is making progress on bending, I'd like to improve my crush as well. The after effects of crushing seem to be way more prevalent the day after, as opposed to bending where my hand/wrists feel spent the same day. That's why I plan to do crushing first for now and see how it goes. Long-term goals are bending (and then snapping) a red nail and shutting the CoC #3.

  20. DU bending is the only form of bending I had success of training before grippers. Although I'm really weak at that technique, so that's probably the reason that worked for me. However I did feel stronger at grippers after bending a few bars DU. For reverse I always do it after. If it's not a max bend I can manage to do it before grippers. Once up on a time I trained reverse bending, grippers and thick bar. Twice a week. In that particular order. I managed to make progress on all three at the same time (although very limited progress with grippers). Something I never ever succeeded with before or after that. For DO, I can't do anything grip after that, completely destroys me. I would do grippers before bending. I think that's best, not only because the results you'll get but it also serves as warmup before bending.

  22. Yes there is a problem. You are not using your back at all and essentially chicken winging it. When you attempt tougher steel you will soon come to an impasse. Attempting to bend higher (towards neck) and forcing your elbows towards each other (not down) will help you engage your back...which will ultimately make you a stronger bender. That said, there are plenty of people who have certed the Red at chest level. So...I guess the real answer to your question depends on your goals.
