Thought this may be an interesting topic: what are your 45 hub dimensions?

My main hubbing plates:

Make: Go Mango

Width: 97mm

Depth: 27mm

Slope: very minor with about a 5mm flare at the bottom

I forget what they measured but I bought a few kinds off of craigslist. Of the 45s 2 sets had similar sized hubs with almost identical dimensions to an IM hub. Textures varied a bit. My Golds Gym 45s had a very fun hub of ~6" wide, 3/4" tall. I prefer these to hub with. Might have to do with my basketball days and balming a ball.

I think I posted this about 4 or 5 years ago, but will repeat now. Back around 2005 or 2006, I emailed R Strossen to ask him "which version of the York Plates" was the IronMind Hub modeled after. At the time, I had NO CLUE that there were many versions of hubs on Yorks, and it was a very stupid question. I think I actually believed that there were just a couple of versions over the years. His reponse was something like "the hub was in the spirit of the lift" and was not based on any specific version. I don't think that there has been much in the way of organized gathering of data on different brands of plates and shared on the board. There are some guys who can hub very wide and very shallow hubs, plus do amazing things with them. Most of us are very interested in "hub friendly" plates. I know some have shared some of these over the years, but I never have taken enough notice to remember spit.

Nice idea for a thread...

I've got some 25# old York deep dish plates that I'll measure as well. If a guy could get the 45's in the same dimensions they'd be awesome.

Slope: slight, no flare

Texture: uneven surface but fairly slick via paint.

Measured my FBBC and IM hubs for kicks:

IM:

Width: 3" (~75mm)

Height: 1.25" (~32mm)
