mightyjoe
The ABSOLUTE most AWESOME Grip Piece I own! This is museum quality and is staying in my family to be handed down to my 2 sons and hopefully own down through the generations. SPECIAL THANKS to my SPECIAL FRIEND Richard Sorin for making this happen. It's worth mentioning that Richard kept me updated by e-mail on a consistent basis. Several phone calls and the next thing I know it's upstairs in my Grip Museum. Hope you enjoy watching this unveiling with me as much as I enjoy sharing it with you guys!!! Your Grip Friend, Mighty Joe

macaz
That is beautiful. I think the 2" handle is just right for its 130# empty weight. Maybe 2.5" is good too but 3" dang. What kind of monster can lift that with a 3" handle.
Aaron Jacobs
Wow! What was the weight again?

Chez
That is beautiful. I think the 2" handle is just right for its 130# empty weight. Maybe 2.5" is good too but 3" dang. What kind of monster can lift that with a 3" handle. Andrew Durniat has a monster bell like that at his gym which is 135lbs empty and has a 3 inch handle and he lifted at the comp in February. Its a beast. Andrew's thick bar ability is unreal. It was in the medley and I totally skipped over it and the inch DB because I know they would be a waste of time for to try. Thick bar might be my weakest event.
mightyjoe
THANKS guys!!! I still can't believe I own this BEAST!!! It overwhelms everything in my room! Just CRAZY! BTW, the official weight is 129.6 lbs. Richard said it's the heaviest Bell that has left his facility. The Circus Bell's with the 3" handle are steel tubing and weigh around 120 lbs. empty. The reason this one is heavier is due to the "solid" true 2" handle. Richard actually got a special piece of solid steel that is a true 2 inches and not 1-15/16". With the powder coating my handle mics at 2.020". The finish on this Bell is incredible! I'm a firm believer in powder coating now. I also got some of the Sorinex Grip Tools he offers on his website and they too are powder coated and the feel is incredible. I'll be doing a separate review of these SOON. Andrew D. training with the Bell with the 3" handle doesn't surprise me in the least. Probably hands down the top thick bar guy in the world all things considered. It's worth mentioning I was initially surprised I couldn't lift this Bell. But after some thought I was wondering if the shear size of the globes add to the torque placed upon one's thumb? I can't see this not being a factor. I've lifted 145 on a regular 2" handle DB I own made by Tetting.

Jedd Johnson
Looks awesome, Joe. Another piece of beauty to come out of the Sorinex facility!
33wes
Great addition, Joe! It dwarfs everything in that room! A little chalk and you may be able to straddle deadlift it, as you got some airtime there...
svr
That has to be the coolest thing I have seen in a long time. Unique, imposing, and because of your relationship to the manufacturer, it was born with some history. It is hard to make an heirloom, congratulations. EricMilfeld
Joe, with a little bit of shot at the bottom you might be able to deadlift that bell right now. She's a beauty!
tspinillo
A fantastic piece! Good luck with it.

mightyjoe
what did that cost like 400? I'm making my own at the en of this month so hopefully that'll turn out as well as the guys who made yours:) I'm guessing cost is not relevant being you're making your own but I will say there's a difference between cost and value and this Bell's value is priceless to me. Post of pic of yours when your done and let's see how your's turns out. Also give some specs if you don't mind. The Musselwhite Bell is 29" in length. Handle diameter = 2.020" ( solid CR steel), Handle length = 5". Globes are 12.5" in diameter and 41.5" in circumference. Weight empty = 129.6 lbs. The Bell is powder coated. No paint! Paul Knight
Wow! I wish you had it at your house the other weekend when I was over ... you planning on putting some sand or shot in it Joe? Very, very nice! I'm impressed!
mightyjoe
Wow! I wish you had it at your house the other weekend when I was over ... you planning on putting some sand or shot in it Joe? Very, very nice! I'm impressed! Thanks Paul! You was a week too soon buddy! This Bell is the BOMB!!! I do have plans or at least the potential to fill the globes with what Richard Sorin and crew call "lion's chow". A 50 lb. bag will fill both globes completely (half bag in each globe) bringing the weight to app. 180 lbs. Alternatively I can use some very small lead shot and bring the weight all the way to nearly 1000 lbs if I so desired. I see no reason for this but I will load it to 250 lbs. for the next Ronnie Coleman Classic and the upcoming Europa Show come August in Dallas, Texas. I'm currently in a conditioning phase for the old time classic lift called a "Bent Press" where one lifts the Bell overhead with one arm. I will have to demonstrate next time we meet up. Very cool lift that many old timers labeled the "King of Lifts". My goal is to bent press this Bell overhead with my right arm. Thanks again for the comments my friend!!!
