andurniat
Such a great time with everyone and great to continue seeing new competitors. 'Novice' truly only means new to grip sport, not grip training, because the 'new guys' are coming ready to compete. Great job to those who are educating and teaching the 'novices'. The comp ran extremely smooth. I really liked the single 2hp width and most every experienced competitor came close to a PR even if they didn't pinch at the 52mm used, women were at 44mm. We used 10# jumps and it was last man standing format, once you came in you pulled at every weight until you were out. RT ran the same way with 10# jumps again. The medley was anything but easy. Nick brought the Gracie bell and 3-25s. Chuck had set-up a 340# DO axle, in the medley, WOW, so much for novice.. The final event was a 25# plate hub for distance in 30 sec., then a 20sec. rest period, and then a 100# farmers walk with FatGripz handles for 30sec.. The last event was a fun twist on traditional events and more challenging than I originally was thinking it was going to be. Great day and great lead into Nationals.
