Mike Sharkey
this is a long term goal for me too. my best was some air with 305#. I also plan to do this with eagle loops. best with them is 375# on an OLY bar one handed. I'll post some videos next time I hit it. good luck! barbe705
I got a pair of dinnie stone trainers from chris rice a while ago. I loaded them up and tested where I was at. huge pain all through both hands. did you get anything like that when you started? if not, how did you work up? Brent, I can't say its an excruciating kind of pain when i lift with the ring. It does hurt quite a bit - yet managable. To be honest with you I really haven't done much heavy tendon training like this before. The only training I can think of from years past was hanging from the IM clawcurls... Mike Sharkey
They definitely hurt more. Can pull a ton of weight though. I should break 400# on the bar next week. Maybe I should video that haha.

1stCoC
We just had a very long distance call from Scotland, Highland Games star Matt Vincent successfully lifted the Dinnie Stones (413,321) and female standout Kristi Scott pulled them using straps today .Nice lifts for both of them! Do we know of any other ladies that have lifted them other than Jan Todd?

Mike Sharkey
400# Eagle Loops on the Axle. Made this look harder than it felt. I think I am too far forward over the bar. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhwugdCQCvo

jvance
Haha that'll leave a mark... 400 with one hand is damn impressive... Strong tendons - and hardwood floor!
Mike Sharkey
Haha that'll leave a mark... 400 with one hand is damn impressive... Strong tendons - and hardwood floor! Thanks man. One hand lifting is one of my favorite things. I want to up my ring too and incorporate grip strength too. I need more plates. Definitely think I have 450# on this bar if I get a bit more centered. Interestingly, I much prefer this on the axle over the oly bar, it doesn't have any flex.
Magnus Gustafsson
I'm on for a 400# ring lift. Among my many goals (too many, heh) is a legit lift of the Dinnies. Unfortunately David Horne no longer sells his replica set, but his Gripopadia #3 has the specs needed to make your own and using this I have been able to source rings and make pins that closely resemble the Dinnie-configuration. With two small rings (very similar to Ironmind's R-ring) I managed a 550 lbs lift (305+245) in my first (and so far only) session. 600 lbs just barely left the ground. I will attempt a 330 lbs single hand next session.
Magnus Gustafsson
Got my 330 lbs: http://youtu.be/MGPTwROhNj0 (Wasn't planning to lift tonight, but it's funny how you sometimes just end up in the gym moving weights anyway). jvance, you're next! Show me 340 lbs!
Magnus Gustafsson
Looks like nobody else stepped on this bandwagon? I tried for 340 tonight and broke it off ground, but couldn't lock it out. It followed a variety off grip work though so conditions weren't optimal.
jvance
I actually have been trying to deload the heavy one hand lifts... My back has been kinda tight, but if the back feels good here soon ill give it a shot...
Mike Sharkey
I'm still in. Over 300 is a bear for me with the ring. Back can lift it, just can't grip it :P
Magnus Gustafsson
I'm still in. Over 300 is a bear for me with the ring. Back can lift it, just can't grip it :P Hookless double overhand deadlifts seems to offer steady gains for me and its much easier on the hands to get volume work done this way. I also plan to start using my grip machine that has just collected dust ever since I bought it some years ago. I don't think I will ever to anything but singles with the rings.
