mossman
hey guys, i filed my #1, and im getting ready to do the same to my #2. i used a bench grinder, and i didnt like the way it came out. i saw the way tommy H. filed his #3, on both sides. it looked very clean and neat. could someone give me details on a good way to file a gripper on both ends? Scott Styles
Buy a bastard mill file from the hardware store for about $8. Keep filing just enough material off of the handles so that the point they touch at during the close moves higher and higher.
OldGuy
I used a hacksaw on a #

itch85
id go for the hacksaw and then touchup with a medium file because the CoC's are aluminium handles so you dont want too much of a rough file.
OldGuy
I just angled the gripper handle on a block of wood and cut straight down. Took about 1 minute.
milkbone
I used a bench grinder and it worked fine. Gave a pretty smooth finish to it and I polished it off with the wire wheel to get any rough places off. Wear gloves if you use a bench grinder 'cause that handle heats up in a hurry. mmainlands
I have found the filed down #2 at "oldsgym" to be an asset to my training. I just recently shut it both right and left handed. I think it has a place in any grip nut's arsenal.
OldGuy
Surely you mean Gold's Gym?
opnsysme
Being aluminum I just used a file and my other hand to hold it and got a grip work out of it!!
mmainlands
Surely you mean Gold's Gym? It is nothing like Gold's Gym and is run by some old guy. Edited August 26, 2004 by mmainlands
Lyle
I used a Bench Grinder "the side of the wheel" even though you're not supposed to. It came out fine and like mentioned above, it heats up fast.
Davekline
You'll need to invest in a filecard to brush out the aluminum dust every few minutes. It makes the filing job go smoother.
