anson Posted May 1, 2004 Posted May 1, 2004 The powerrings are simple: screw into your ceiling rafters 2 large lag eye bolts a little wider than shoulder width take some 1" tubular nylon climbing webbing(4,200lb rating) and pull a loop, put your carabiner through this and into your lag eye bolt-or you can just use chain and you won't have to pull any loops. get some $10 yellow plastic swingset rings from Lowes, these things are a lot tougher than you might think. for about $40 you can get steel rings from Ironmind. pull loops through the webbing at different heights to clip your rings in with carabiners, if you use chain you won't even have to do this, in retro i would use chain. check out my gallery to see pics of my homemade powerrings. they are much easier on the joints and make everything more challanging :stuart enjoy! nagual Posted May 2, 2004 Posted May 2, 2004 Cool. I've been thinking about getting some powerrings myself. Always wanted to be able to do the "cross", or whatever it's called, that gymnast thing. Can you do it? Quote

Monte Cristo2 Posted May 2, 2004 Posted May 2, 2004 http://www.wwfitness.com/gripstrength.html "THE RING" 6" dia x 5/8" $13.99 each. These are a little cheaper than Iron Mind. Quote
anson Posted May 17, 2004 Author Posted May 17, 2004 here's a little twist that underdawg came up with- grab only the thin nylon webbing and chin yourself. this is super tough, it works your crush in a whole new way. Quote
