Here's Something

From when I was a kid & my hands were probably stronger than they are now. My dad did sheet metal work & we had a shop at home. Used to help him out after school & on weekends. Cutting sheet metal with hand shears. Dad's hands were extremely strong. Was thinking a good exercise & pretty cheap would be cutting strips of sheet metal with a pair of hand shears. by the time you can cut 14 gauge with one hand, you'll have some serious crushing & thumb worked up. figure a trip to a scrapyard & a $10 pair if snips would give a lot of results.

If memory serves, Brookfield mentions this. Either in MOHS or one of the grip tips...

One of my buddies is an electrician and cuts wire all day long.

Needless to say he is able to close my # 2 without any gripper training.

buy cheap enough (dulling quickly) shears and cut them in narrow enough strips, and I think you'd find a guy would use less steel than he'd think.

Think of it as making 18 guage glitter. :D

My brother is a tutor at the local college and he bends in his spare time while at work. He hangs his PR bends on the learning center bulletin board with labels saying "Jake's Bling-Bling" The Hip-Hop crowd doesn't find it nearly as funny as the rest of us.

I'd think a automotive wrecking yard would make a good shopping area. get an old car hood & start cutting it into 1/2" wide strips.
