FrankyBoy Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 Hi everyone, just to let you know: After some deadlifts this afternoon I did some singles with my right hand and felt pretty good. So I attacked the #1 with my left and bang it was shut. It took me now 8 month of recovery to go there after an arm break and a resulting nerv injury (radialis). So I'm really happy with it and just want to thank you guys for keeping my motivation high. I would never have been where I am right now without the grip training. Thanks again! Quote
FbaLLPlaya_53 Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 Nice work, how close are you on the #2 with your right hand? Quote Sean Fogale Tacoma, Washington If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.
FrankyBoy Posted April 12, 2004 Author Posted April 12, 2004 Nice work, how close are you on the #2 with your right hand? Back in June '03 I was very close with the #2 and could close it with my right for three reps. Now I can close my easy #3, sometimes for reps and am 1/8" away on my harder #3. I want to certify as a MMG soon (former level 0, not to be misunderstood ). Quote

Hallo Burkhard, I try to get certified on the next german grip championship in october. Still have problems with that credit card trick Till March I used a set while bracing the left hand against my leg to overcome the weekness in that hand. Now as the strength grows back, I'm training both variants: The parallel set as required for MMG certification and the credit card width set for IM. Quote
FrankyBoy Posted April 13, 2004 Author Posted April 13, 2004 Excellent job with the #1 A radial injury... from arm wrestling? Yup ... Well actually the fracture itself doesn't injure the nerv. It happened during the surgery which was done about 8 weeks after the break. This was necessary since the bone fragments slipped off instead of healing properly. Quote
FrankyBoy Posted April 13, 2004 Author Posted April 13, 2004 FrankyBoy made mention to an "easy #3". Are the double stamped COC grippers with a double stamp always weaker? No, they aren't. Mine are both double stamped. There are quite a few parameters which have influence on the actual 'strength' of a gripper. The easy #3 has a handle spread which is less (around 1/4") than that of the harder one. This is also true for the #4. My single stamped #4 is 'easier' than my newer double stamped one. This has been discussed many times here on the board. It's just pot luck. However it seems that the 2004 series in average is a bit harder. Quote
