Zach Passman Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 Does one's wrist position matter when using the RT for max weight? IE, is it "easier" to perform the lift while trying to keep the wrist straight? Or is it more advantageous to leave the wrist in a neutral position, and squeeze harder (concentrate more on) with the thumb? Quote
Zach Passman Posted April 12, 2004 Author Posted April 12, 2004 Come on now--nobody has anything to say? I haven't found any info using the "search" function. No help here, fellas? Quote
rbrown Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 most find it easier to cock the wrist a little. It really depends on where your strengths are; if you have a strong supporting grip and larger hands, you can just pick it straight up. That is how I do it. Many others, especially those who have smaller hands and a strong wrist, find it advantagous to cock the wrist when picking it up. Quote
burkhardmacht Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 I do the RT with a straight wrist. If I try to curl the wrist I'm weaker. Perhaps their is more danger of injury while curling the wrist. That are the two reasons for me to keep the wrist straight. SqeezeMasterFlash Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 I think it's in the spirit of the lift to keep the wrist straight and squeeze the crap out of the thing. Also, I can lift more this way Quote Dwell not upon your weariness, for your strength shall be according to the measure of your desire. Jeff Ford
odin Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 I agree with Ryan. I feel a little stronger with a cocked wrist. Quote Spoiler Bob Sundin 5'11 and 162 lbs. https://m.youtube.com/channel/UC7AZdUkf0aEDB3ET4UhU3Bg/videos
