Yes, Another Topic On Bending Pr's

Have been doing more bending since I got away from grippers and think I'm finally working with a decent technique. Last Sunday I bent two 60d nails with some struggle, then on Wednesday I bent 8 over the course of the day! Yesterday I decided to try to get that Grade 5, which I had not done in quite some time. After a really good kink, I crushed it down easily enough but could only kink a second grade 5. Today, I warmed up with a yellow nail, a blue nail, then demolished a grade 5 in about 20 seconds. I tried the 5.5" grade 5 but it was not to be. Yet. I am going to *try* to rest up on the bending all week and then give the 5.5" bolt a try next Sunday.

I coaxed Woodchuck into trying some bending as well. He did a yellow nail off-center by about 1/2" so I thought he might be good for a blue, which he did after fighting it for a minute or so. He noted the same thing we all did after the first couple of bends: "I can see how this becomes addicting!"

Also, on an unrelated-to-bending note, I deadlifted the 50lb hex head for the first time tonight and held it there for a 5 count. Now I'm going to go ice my elbows and put Nicoflex on my hands!

Clay, nice job on the bending! That vibration you feel is The Red shaking.

I deadlifted the 50lb hex head for the first time tonight and held it there for a 5 count.

I have a 52 hex, and I think I will lift The Blob before that slippery hammertone monster. I can't imagine holding one for 5 seconds for a while. Have you had many chances to play with The Blob?

Great job Clay.

I see you bending a red in the very near future at the rate you are going.

Keep it up Bro :bow

Thanks guys. When we got the hex heads cut off the handles, I took some steel wool and scratched the gripping surface, and I use a lot of chalk for block weights, so it is not as hard as lifting the slippery block!

I am going to try to take the same steps up to the red that I took to the #4. I think of the blue nail as like a #3, the grade 5 is like the BBE, and a grade 8 is like a BBSE to me, with the red nail being the "#4" of bending.

If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.

Right, like I could go a week without bending. Bent 2 grade 5's tonight for the first time, and got the first one on video. The second bend was an ugly battle that shouldn't be viewed in public!

and yes, I did whack myself in the face!
