Some New Bending Pr's

Today I went to Home Depot and got 3/16, 1/4 and 5/16 CRS. I havent bent anything in a few week and by chance hit some new PR's today. I bent a 4 1/2 piece of 3/16 CRS pretty easily, then moved on to a 7" 1/4 piece of CRS, it took me a few minutes but eventually destroyed it. Then I decided to move onto my 5/16 CRS aka The Red Nail. I cut a 11" piece and put a nice kink into it. After that bend I couldnt believe some of the guys here actually bent a Red :bow .

If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.

Yeah I hear ya. I bought some 5/16 and some 1/4 square stock and they were both really tough. I cut an 8 inch piece of the 5/16 and haven't even kinked it yet and I could only put a kink in the 7x1/4" square stock.

Congratulations on your new PR's Sean! :rock

Do remember that as equally important as stock thickness, is the steel itself. And this includes factors other than simply HRS or CRS designations. Two pieces of 5/16" CRS can be worlds apart with regards to difficulty.

Congrats.

Nice PR's. The CRS I bought from Lowes is killer. I couldn't even kink the 7" x 1/4.
