uppy Posted April 4, 2004 Posted April 4, 2004 I have searched this, but got conflicting information. I need a gripper which is harder than a IM 3 to do negatives with. I tried the IM 4, but it is just way too much. Which gripper would be the next step up from the 3. Thanks. Quote

HAMMERHEAD Posted April 4, 2004 Posted April 4, 2004 Not this question AGAIN!!!! Use the search function again. There is a tone of info. If you got a question about the conflicting info. then tell us what it is and ask opinions. Don't ask questions that a little effort will answer better than the answers to this thread. Go to the faq section too. Go forth and sin no more. -HH Quote
HAMMERHEAD Posted April 4, 2004 Posted April 4, 2004 And one more thing: Don't get a GM. It's the same spring wire diameter as a #3. See what happens when you ask questions that have been answered a thousand times. You get a knucklehead answer. Everybody, that knows the answer is sick of telling it over and over, and over, and over, and... well you get the idea. If you are unable to get the info than pm me. Just try first. Please. -HH Quote
Darco Posted April 4, 2004 Posted April 4, 2004 Thats exactly why I had proposed to post up a decimal rating system..... You cant blame 'em Its usually the first gripper question somebody thinks of when joining the board. This question will be back 11 063 more times... Quote "What I do tests my endurance. Bill Piche Posted April 4, 2004 Posted April 4, 2004 Do we have this info so I can post it in the FAQ? Can someone find it for me or organize it so we can just say "see the FAQ". Thanks. Quote

uppy Posted April 4, 2004 Author Posted April 4, 2004 Here is an example of what I mean by conflicting information. Both the BB master and coc 2 have wire size of .260, yet bb rates theirs at 155, while IM rates theirs at 195. Both the coc 3 and bb grand master have .281 wire, but BB rates the grandmaster at 220 while IM rates the 3 at 280. I'm just confused whether to use the wire size or the poundage rating as a judge. Don't pay attention to those ratings because Warren has changed the way he makes the grippers so the grippers are tougher than what they apear on the listing. I have the whole set I know how tough they are. Quote Kyle Howell, from Ohio The best motivation for me is myself, always push yourself farther than you think you can go. GarytheDino Posted April 5, 2004 Posted April 5, 2004 True, the wire size does mean more than the poundage rating with BB HG or IM. If you get the heavy grips the wire size means nothing. My hg-300 has a bigger wire than a #3 or GM which are usually close in strength. The hg 300 is wound looser and easier than both my #3 and GM, though not by much. With the varience between grippers and Hg-300,GM and #3 all being fairly close the Elite would be the next step to take, although you could possibly find an usually hard of any of those first 3 mentioned.
