SqeezeMasterFlash Posted March 26, 2004 Posted March 26, 2004 I just got my chunk in the mail. Check my gallery for pictures of it compared to a 40lb blob. This thing is way bigger than it looks in the pictures on FBBC's website. My only complaint would be the adjustments. If you're looking for something you can adjust to the exact specifications of a York 50lb blob, look elsewhere. You can probably get this there, but it'll take so long adjusting and measuring that you'll be worn out and won't want to train afterwards. If you just want something that's sturdy, wides, and crazy hard to lift much weight on, give the chunk a try. It's relatively slick and the adjustments can be made to fit your hand size. It's not a perfect simulation of a blob, but I'll be when I can pull up 50lbs on this thing the Blob won't be much of a challenge any more. SqeezeMasterFlash Posted April 6, 2004 Author Posted April 6, 2004 Word of caution. If you're doing negatives or holds to failure, make sure you drop it nice and far away from your body. The ends of the bolts are pretty sharp if you drop it against your leg (the bleeding still hasn't stopped ) Quote Dwell not upon your weariness, for your strength shall be according to the measure of your desire. Sybersnott Posted April 6, 2004 Posted April 6, 2004 Including shipping $44 This is cheaper than an original York blob, not to mention the shipping!! Quote "I have always been strong. SqeezeMasterFlash Posted April 6, 2004 Author Posted April 6, 2004 The Chunk definitely rocks. I've got mine set at 3 15/16 at the top and 5 1/4 at the bottom and 25lbs is a real challenge. 25lbs here is about as hard as my 40lb blob. If I get up to 50lbs on the chunk the 50# Blob shouldn't be a challenge any more! Quote Dwell not upon your weariness, for your strength shall be according to the measure of your desire. Jeff Ford
Davekline Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 Including shipping $44 I guess you could say that the Chunk doesn't cost a hunk of change. Quote Life without iron would be a very weak alloy.
Six Barrel Shotgun Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 (edited) Bump! Do you get as good workout on the chunk as on blobs? Does it work the hands in the same way, and as effective? Better shipping to Sweden compared to blobs.. Edited February 10, 2010 by Six Barrel Shotgun Quote
