Michael Schmitt Posted March 23, 2004 Posted March 23, 2004 I have always liked my Ivanko Supergripper but was disappointed with the slickness of the handles. In fact it there was one thing that I really liked better about the COC grippers was the knurling that helped keep it in one place in my hand. I had tried athletic tape on it in that past but felt like it was just not nearly enough. I also tried stabilized it with the other hand, but felt like it affected the level I could work with too much, that it might not be as transferable to a COC grip. Yesterday on Dr Squat’s forum I read: Yeah, you HAVE to put some grip tape on it. It's very nice once you do that. Well I went down to the Home Depot last night and next to the masking tape in the paint section I found the 3M “Safety Walk Outdoor Tread”. Wow! What a difference. I really like the change. I have to warn anyone who gives it a try, be careful the first time you are using the Supergripper with that tape. I was playing with the gripper after putting on the tape and then I noticed my hands. They were pretty scuffed up! I am sure if I didn’t take notice when I did, I would have paid for it. Quote
tmmicklabs Posted March 23, 2004 Posted March 23, 2004 Great idea. I will have to try that. Did you tape the inside and outside handles or just the inside handle ? And how about a pic if you would be so kind. Quote
odin Posted March 23, 2004 Posted March 23, 2004 Is that the sandpaper textured material that is sometimes put on stairs to prevent falls? I want something rough for the ISG with an adhesive backing so I don't have to fool with it once it is attached. Thanks Michael, what you discovered may work for me. Yes, that packaging shows it on a wooden ladder. Quote
Davekline Posted March 24, 2004 Posted March 24, 2004 Skateborders use this stuff too. Quote Life without iron would be a very weak alloy.
OldGuy Posted March 24, 2004 Posted March 24, 2004 I got used to the slickness and the uncomfortable feel of the S G. I use no kind of tape or even chalk. Quote Not afraid to ruffle feathers!
