MikeP Posted March 23, 2004 Posted March 23, 2004 Anybody bending horseshoes? I saw the pic of Pat in Milo doing it, maybe somebody can explain/demo the form they use. What rating are the shoes, OOO lite appear to be the weakest @ the mill. Quote "Any day without an injury is a PR." Clay Edgin, AOBS 2004 @ 1am.
John Beatty Posted March 23, 2004 Posted March 23, 2004 There are different sizes, too. Pony, racehorse, & others. then the sizes. Quote I like heavy things.
MikeP Posted March 23, 2004 Author Posted March 23, 2004 I'm thinking of contacting the large animal vet or horse shoer (sp?) and see if I can get some worn/older ones first...maybe a little less steel in a used one. Quote "Any day without an injury is a PR." Clay Edgin, AOBS 2004 @ 1am.
OldGuy Posted March 23, 2004 Posted March 23, 2004 Huge variety of horsehoes. Different sizes and metals, different degrees or wear and tear. Quote Not afraid to ruffle feathers!
Clay Edgin Posted March 24, 2004 Posted March 24, 2004 If you want some horseshoes, I will GLADLY give you some of mine. They are used and range from 00 to 2 in size. They've been sitting outside for a little while and are a good challenge for someone just starting out with bending shoes. If you can front the dough for shipping, I will box some up and send them out ASAP. Just let me know how many pounds you want to pay shipping for and I'll do the rest... In case you can't tell, I have more shoes than I have time to bend them! Quote
OldGuy Posted March 24, 2004 Posted March 24, 2004 And none of them fit you. Clay do you have a Paypal account? Quote Not afraid to ruffle feathers!
SalGuimino Posted March 26, 2004 Posted March 26, 2004 Is there a specific technique for this? ET Quote
CMunger Posted March 27, 2004 Posted March 27, 2004 Hell, I don't even know wha you're supposed to do with a horseshoe. Straighten it, twist it, make the ends closer... No clue. Quote Gunther says: "Stand up to cyber-bullies."

Clay Edgin Posted March 31, 2004 Posted March 31, 2004 Just a quick note. I've received money from a few people (MikeP, odin, AP) for the horseshoes and will be getting them out in tomorrow's mail. After I get those boxes out I will see how many shoes I have left and let you guys know. Quote
