Posted (edited)

2025 is right around the corner and I am super excited to smash new goals in my grip journey and of course life!

My grip goals for 2025 are:

1. CCS My #3.5 (was 1mm off last time I tried).

2.Get 20 reps in one set with my super heavy #2.5 gripper (currently at 16).

3. Get 12 reps on my #3 gripper (currently only on 10).

General Training Goals:

1. Get 20 reps on pull ups (currently at 15).

2. Start Training Deficit HSPUs and reach 5 full reps per set.

3. ATG squat 180kg (currently at 160kg

Health Goals

1. Hover around 90-95kg while achieving all the goals above (currently 100kg).

2. Start Implementing 100m sprints (start with hill sprints, something I did in school way back).

3. Live more stress free, as much as possible.

4. Get my Fullstack Development Certificate and my first job remote from home.

Let me know yours as well, whatever they might be I wish you goodluck and may the new year bring you nothing but success, happiness and most importantly health🥰!

Definitely closing the #3, that's a big one. But like you said, I also just want to work on my stress and my thought life. I know that will go a long way to helping me in my life

Health before everything else as it should be!

How's the journey to #3 going so far, when did you start training for it and I am very curious how you go about it training wise :D?

I achieved a grand total of 0 of my goals for 2024, so I guess that I’ll stay with the same goals. Pasting them in below.

I’ve been injured for 9 months since January 1st 2023. My main goal is to remain injury free and train smarter.

—————

Grip goals for 2024:

• Close my GHP 8 within the first half of 2024.

• Hit 140 kg on my GM150 dynamometer and break in to the top 15 of all time.

• Close a 180 rated gripper.

• Certify on the #3.

• 10 clicks on my 146 rated #3. 5 is my current best. Most recently did 3 when I tried. (* I’ve done 7 since I wrote this!)

• 3 clicks on my 169 rated #3.5

• Get at least one friend interested in grip training.

In 2023, I suffered a head injury January first which hindered me from working out for 4 months and kept me out of work for 6. Later on I had unrelated surgery that required 4 weeks without exercise.

These two set backs impacted my strength majorly. It wasn’t until October 2023 that I reached my pre head injury performance in the gym and on grippers.

2024 will be my first full year of grip training, if I can stay injury free. I have high hopes.”

———————-

I didn’t stay injury free! Couldn’t train grip for 7 weeks earlier this year, and I’m soon two months into my forearm injury in my right arm and tendinitis in my left.

Adding to my goals for 2025, I want to

• lift my 80 kg inch for 7 reps.

• I also have a goal of getting a solid lift off on my friend’s 95 kg bell.

• 50+ kg/110+ lbs on IM pinch block

• 100 kg/220 lbs on Gods of grip 60mm handle

• 200 kg/454 lbs axle

• and everything else!

I haven’t recruited any friends to grip, but I’ve met several already grip interested folks, and that’s a win for me. I also discovered the gripboard 😎

I look forward to both read and eventually see other people achieve their goals!

Besides the injuries, which I hope you get by I really like these goals and it seems like you're super strong already! Do you have a Youtube channel?

Staying injury free is my only goal this year! This year was rough:

- Had a minor hernia
- Threw out my lower back twice this year. Once riding my MTB and 2nd time twisting to unbuckle my seatbelt 🤣.
- Got elbow tendonitis

Just getting into gripping. Going to take it very easy.

Here's to a healthy 2025! 🍻

Awesome! Where is the certificate from?

I'm also a developer working from home. In fact, I am working right now 🙂. Definitely has it's benefits!

Yes so true.

I'm doing well with it. I estimate I'm probably 10 rgc pounds off.

I've got a whole timeline in my log somewhere, but collectively I've trained about a year and 4 months. I train smart and really try to limit maxing out/negs as much as possible, I use them occasionally, but I'm very cautious with them.

It won't be long unit I close my bodyweight in rgc. I'm only a few millimeters off of it(140). I'm definitely working my way up, slowly but surely😌

My main goals are to close my 113 rated platinum and then hopefully my 124 rated #2.5 and then to just get better at bending.

Hopefully plate pinch two 15kg Mirafit plates.

My sort of new year resolutions for 2025;

IM Red Nail cert (My main focus at the moment, got a red nail with double pads and crush pads a few days ago so there is a long long way to go but if we are counting the entirety of 2025, there is a chance hopefully :D )
CoC #2 CCS (Honestly overall getting better with grippers.)
70kg with Rolling Thunder (This one is a stretch, but I'll still keep it on the cards. Current PB is a little over 45 kilos, so... may not happen, but one can dream.)
25kg with wiped IM Hub (This one is for the CTD training as well, also because I love training with the IM hub lol)

Also overall getting in better shape and being able to grip more.

Goals: Grip Genie 5 (deep set), CoC #2 (CCS), IM Red Nail (DO, single pads).

My goals are, in order, to break the 200rgc mark, close an average rated #4 and possibly cert MM210

For grip it would be hitting 80KG on my GoG 60mm rolling handle, getting back to #3 MMS consistently, 95KG+ 3 inch pinch, 30KG hub, bending M8 8.8 stock.

Currently rehabbing my wrist and forearm so we'll see how that goes, but I feel like these are achievable over the course of a bit over a year.

Ugh, sorry to hear that but It does sound a bit comical how easily we humans can hurt ourselves😅

2024 was indeed crazy!

Oh really, awesome!

I should definitely ask you for advice then because people are too afraid to ask for help in this field.

Asking for help ans learning from different perspectives is a surefire way to being a super well rounded developer!

I am getting it through a course, an official course through Sweden system.

Altho I've gone through FreeCodeCamp as well :)

Sounds like a great goal to shoot for, most importantly is to enjoy your journey because the road to get there is the fun part😁

This is awesome, I've always been interested in bending but hearing some people say that you can get nerv damaged kind of put that on a hold for me for now.

Goal is to close the #4 and I can't risk anything.

I believe in you brother if you done it once you'll do it again, and for the bending, just be careful😎
