orveprecision Posted November 27 Posted November 27 I'm looking to get a pair of 15kg/35lbs for hub lifting. I don't like the strengthshop deep dish plates, and I don't care much for vintage plates if they are not readily available. Standard barbell 15kgs seems to have a really fat and shallow hub so I don't know if its a good plate for this purpose. Any tips on other plates that are available in the EU that has a good hub? Looks allright to me and pretty cheap I have one of those 20kg plates, the hub is not good for hub lifting, it's sloped. I know you said you don't want the deep dish from strengthshop, but it's the only plate I was able to find in EU that's actually good for hub lifting in. They are pretty cheap too. Thanks for confirming its not very good for the intended purpose! Yeah everything about the strengthshop plate seems ok except the huge molded logo which I dont prefer... 2 Quote

Do you think the hub is straight enough? I mean it looks pretty good but pictures can be deceiving, might be worth contacting them and see if they can film the hub from different angles. 1 Quote Certs done: MM1 | Griffkraft (143RGC TNS) | Golden Grip LVL 6 (TNS) | Armlifting Greece Olympian (30mm block - 23 reps) Goals: #3 cert & GHP 8 cert

I measured the hub, it's around 23mm in height and around 83mm wide at the top and wider a the bottom due to a the slope. I recently got a 15kg pair of Mirafit plates they have a wider and shallower hub and less of a slope. Here's a link if your interested. https://mirafit.co.uk/mirafit-deep-dish-olympic-weight-plates.html 1 Quote
