AdriaanRobert96 Posted November 25 Posted November 25 I dipped my feet into the reverse curl the past month or so and I've always wondered, are there any baseline goals to shoot for? Like half bw for x amount of reps etc etc? I am currently hitting 70kg for a single with fairly strict form and almost zero swing. I usually stick with 3 sets of 10 with 50kg since It does need some work and not just super heavy. Quote
climber511 Posted November 25 Posted November 25 Please post video - 70 kilos is a 154# reverse curl - if that's half bodyweight for you - you're a beast. That's pretty serious stuff! 3 sets of 10 with 110# is also pretty big. I guess I need to see it before I say anything more. 1 Quote When people used to ask him how it was he became so incredibly strong, it was always the same, "strengthen your mind, the rest will follow". I will for sure post it whenever I got the time, I am still waiting for my Youtube channel password reset which should happen soon. As soon as I get it I'll post my workouts on YT since it's much more exciting than text on the page. Also that 70kg reverse curl single isn't half my bw, since I hover around 100kgs at the moment so it's more than half altho what I am asking if anyone knows any standards that should be respectable or a goal to shoot for, even tho I understand that singles wont do too much so I stick to reps Edited November 25 by AdriaanRobert96 2 Quote

It's not really done as a competition type lift generally. Done fairly strict and over a full range of motion I would call your numbers way above average - especially at 100K bodyweight. Most videos I see of it - while impressively big weights are used seldom do a full range of motion. For me at least it's the top half of the reverse curl that hits the extensors we want for Grip extensor strength development. When anyone asks me about "goals" I always answer - 5# more tomorrow than today and it will take care of itself LOL. 1 Quote When people used to ask him how it was he became so incredibly strong, it was always the same, "strengthen your mind, the rest will follow". Love the "'5# more tomorrow" xD Make a lot of sense and will make massive gains over the course of months and years Quote
