Bumper using rubber bands

Recommended Posts

Posted

Hello,

I have to use a rubber band to fit a bumper in a gripper (otherwise the bumper is too small)

Does this reduce the poundage added for each turn? I believe one full turn is approximately 1.5lbs, is it the same when using a rubber band, or does the rubber reduce the effectiveness?

I guess it doesn't really matter at all...just curious

The rubber band is mainly needed for Standard due to a slightly larger coil inside diameter. You should not need it for other major brands except for one-offs like specific RBs.

It doesn’t change anything, but rather just makes the initial fit better.

Thanks,

Yeah it was a standard gripper.

There was a lot of drag putting the bumper in, but with two 360 degree turns the gripper felt the same as when I used it without the bumper last week....must be getting stronger!
