DIY Gripper RGC Rating Device

Recommended Posts

I made my own gripper RGC rating device. So far it is extremely accurate. It matches @Cannon ratings almost perfectly. In this rating, it was only .03lbs off of the provided rating. I will do a review on this device later and plan to rate grippers above 190rgc to see if its still accurate. Currently, its still spot on with ratings up to 174rgc. In the future review, ill provide a list a materials that I used to build this rgc rating device.
Id still recommend getting CPW to rate your grippers because contests use his ratings and its cheaper to use his service. It wasn’t cheap and extremely time consuming to build. I like to build things and I wanted to see if I could pull it off. Seems like i did just that!

is that a very long screw at the bottom? aren't the threads in danger with such high pressures?

Man, that looks good. You really did a great job on that.
Out of all the ones I’ve seen and a couple that I built. The screw system that you have on the bottom seems to be the best.

This is awesome. I’ve been contemplating one day figuring out a setup for rating. I wouldn’t use it for standard TSGs as I would just get those from Matt, but I’ve wanted to rate things like my RB adjustable, GD 90, and my full Standard adjustable set.

Thank you! It spins extremely smooth and twisting the wing tail nut is effortless 👍🏻

This thing can even rate Zenith grippers! Very versatile rating device. The clamps that hold the bottom handle of the gripper are motorcycle handle bar mounts lined with rubber!
