slazbob Posted September 16 Posted September 16 I’m thinking of adding some form of anvil device to my training, and looking for some advice on which one to get- IronMind or Rogue? Those are the only two I know of. Judging by the looks the Rogue tapers more at the end. thanks Quote
Fist of Fury Posted September 16 Posted September 16 You should get the one you want to be good with. The shape is very important and will greatly affect how much you can lift. So does the material, how well it takes chalk. 2 1 Quote

Another thing to keep in mind a lot of anvil attachments use a carabiner... Which is fine but it won't feel like an actual anvil. Sorinex makes one and Godsofgrip sells David Hornes Horntop again which might be good options as they bolt to the loading pin. 2 1 Quote
Kashtan Posted September 16 Posted September 16 I have both. LBH - is a standard, many years, of gripworld. Rogue device - much much more massive, just fundamental. From the point of view of productivity, I made myself a variant, a Rogue copy, with the kind participation of Ivan Pupchenko, and at home I made a rough coating for it, not from metal, but from plastic. I tried Artem Ushenko's version, it was made of wood, a copy of LBH, I was still skeptical of wood products for grip, but due to a number of reasons, and not a low price, I highly appreciate them in vertical and pinch grip. Competition Frequency I took a spin through the North American Grip Sport Organization site just to see what's typically competed/tracked. Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see any stats for the Rogue anvil. Hornetop for 2024 I saw it was competed at Devon Strongest Hands and Rocky Mountain Grip Sport Summer. However, the GripTopz Hornetop (through a Gods of Grip/World of Grip partnership) is currently sold out. Whereas the Little Big Horn (LBH) in 2023 showed up at the 2023 Spring Squeeze, United States Grip Sport Championship, 2023 Canadian National Grip Sport Championships, West Coast Grip Sport Championship, Heavy Hands 2023, and Snacktown Squeeze Fest. For 2024, LBH showed up at the Peake Street Grip Comp 2, US Grip Sport Nationals, North American Grip Sport Championships, Australian Grip Sport Championship, and The Greenville Grab. Honorable Mention Fat Bastard Barbell Company (FBBC) had an implement listed under "Anvil DL (FBBC)" in the GSI database. However, the FBBC website says "Anvils out of stock. More Castings are on order." Conclusion Historically speaking, LBH has many more entries in the GSI database indicating it has been competed regularly (if you're training with contests in mind). The Rogue anvil is pretty new on the market. It's only existed for a few years. There's an older version of the IM LBH aswell which should be easier than the current version.
