alecStewart1 Posted September 12 Posted September 12 This sounds like a stupid question, but I thought I'd ask it anyway. I found that I actually really like sledgehammers for forearm work. I do have some Onnit macebells which I really like for swing (really helps the shoulders), but nothing beats a good sledge (plus it's likely cheaper than the Onnit macebells). There's the lacquer wood handles, raw wood, some with rubber or silicon handles, and of course the loadable ones I see a few people here have. Do you have a favorite, and why is it your favorite? climber511 Posted September 12 Posted September 12 I have several sledges 6-8-3x10-12-16-20 - and will only buy wood - the synthetics are tough but suck for Grip (my opinion). I've never seen "raw" wooden handles myself - mine are all coated - you could always hit the handle with a little sandpaper. I've made most of mine loadable by welding nuts on them - I can add plates to get additional weight if desired. I've tried an actual loadable but prefer the shape of the wood handle. 1 Quote When people used to ask him how it was he became so incredibly strong, it was always the same, "strengthen your mind, the rest will follow". liftyzig Posted September 12 Posted September 12 I have a LOT of sledgehammers, at least in my eyes I have a lot. My favorite is a 20lb (22lb total weight) that has been in my family for over 50 years, and has been used to pound in fence posts around the fields of my family's farm all during that time. I call it "big bertha" Not the best pic of it, but the only one I have handy.. 3 Quote https://www.instagram.com/liftyzig/
