How many people have managed to clean and press an Inch dumbbell?

Does anyone know how many people have cleaned and pressed an inch dumbbell?

I know that Mark Henry did it (Source). But was he the first? I think Thomas Inch himself could clean it.

Rich Williams in 2011 (Source)

Mike Burke in 2014 (Source)

Laine Snook has done it, couldn’t find source right now.

Hugo Girard and Ryan Green have done it Source

Nathan Holle has done it. Couldn’t find video of it, but I trust him.

Jedd Johnson has done it. (Source

Jesse Pynnönen in 2019. (Source)

This attempt from Mark Jeanes might count. (Source)

Ben Helms did it last year (Source)

That’s 11.

Here’s Brian Shaw picking up one in each hand and chest pressing them. (Source)

Anyone else?

It has come to my knowledge that the man in the video is Mike Burke, not Juha Harju. I’d like to edit the post, but I don’t know if that’s possible. Sorry!

A Canadian beast named Ryan Green has done it.

I have NOT Cleaned and Pressed the Inch. I have Cleaned it and I have Pressed it after getting it to the shoulder, but never Cleaned and Pressed it.

Here's Ryan Green, below. A lot of people aren't aware of his lift, because it is so old. Depending on how precise we want to get with the requirements.  He may be the only person ever to do it with actual proof of a "clean" clean and legit strict press.

The reason I say this is because in many cases the lifter either contacts his body elsewhere (belly for instance) and then Push Presses the bell overhead.

When I get this feat, it will be with a Push Press or Jerk, like I have always moved the bell to the overhead lockout position.  I would feel bad to be classified in the same list as Ryan Green who literally Strict Pressed that bell overhead.

Ben Helms has cleaned the Inch more times than anyone alive that has provided video footage, and the vast majority of his cleans were done with no other body contact.  I'm not sure how many times he's Push Pressed it, but I'm guessing several.

In the end, it's splitting hairs, I know, but I'm just throwing it out there, because I can tell you for a fact that if the bell snags on your belly, it helps the bell flip over.  This happened a couple times in this past weekends session.  Flipping the bell over is one of the toughest parts of the lift.

I change Juha to Mike Burke

Rich Williams should be listed for consideration.  I'll put my video of him doing it below.

I'm just now noticing Ryan Green is already listed.  My bad, I did not see his name before.

I was unaware Hugo Girard had done it.  Is there any documentation of this besides video?

I was unaware of Nathan Holle too.

Jesse has some body contact on the video I saw.

That is some obscene pressing strength.

Are we requiring an actual Inch Replica.  I'm not sure what that is, but it's not a globe dumbbell.

So tough to compile this list, accurately, indeed!

Thank you for filling in and editing!

Feel free to make an independent post on this topic that can be updated when someone else accomplishes the clean.

I’m awaiting my own inch dumbbell from Nathan Holle, and I hope to be able to achieve this some day. It would be interesting to see a complete list over the people who’ve done it.

I'm not sure I have the time or attention span to keep this list on the Gripboard.

Great thread. Hope to see more and more people clean and press it.

Once the bell is to shoulder height. what is the limiting factor? Grip, strength or technique?

I wonder if anyone has cleaned and pressed the millennium dumbbell? 229lbs.

I know Dan Harrison pressed one but not one arm cleaned.

Many more people can do the press, the clean is the hard part. Strongman regularly one arm press dumbbells over 250lbs but these are all 2 handed cleans

The circus dumbbells from Rogue have thicker handles than the Inch and Millenium. Pressing them isn’t the issue for strongmen. But as mentioned above, they use two hands to get it to the shoulder position.

My first Cleans were done with my "lightest" Thomas Inch thats around 77kg. It's the one I'm using on the linked video. After that i've cleaned my other 2 as well.

I've done Clean & Push Press with my 79kg Inch dumbbell

I have also cleaned my Gripmonster Inch that is the hardest 77-80kg Inch I own. Bought it from Juha Harju many years ago. This one Hafthor attempted to deadlift back in 2016 unsuccessfully, which is cool part of its history.

That Mark Jeanes feat definitely shouldn't count.  Way too much body contact and even a leg kick to move it upwards.

This got past me.  Never saw that video before.  Super impressive high pull directly to the shoulder/neck area.  CRAZY!
