ELIMINATE
Hey guys, as title goes, is there any big difference between these 2 for dynamic finger training? I don't want to spend loads of money if the concept is the same, thanks Edited August 13 by ELIMINATE Wrong spelling

Climber028
Some machines are better and some are worse. It depends if the handle is able to rotate or not. If it can spin freely, then you can get more end range motion by opening your hand far enough such that a barbell would be dropped, but the bar in the frame is able to remain since it can't move sideways. If the handle doesn't spin, then most of the training would be at the short end of the range of motion. Personally I find a barbell much better, and this is one of the few cases where a thinner barbell is better for grip training since it applies more force and allows more motion
Fist of Fury
What is your goal? Is it to close grippers? If it is, then a grip machine is a waste of money, you will be much better off spending that money on grippers. Plus you probably have access to one already. If it's good enough for David Horne, and Laine Snook than maybe BB finger curls will serve you well, too. Edit: A gip machine can certainly be a useful tool, if ur palms stay pressed into the upper handle. A lot of guy end up doing some kind of rack pull assisted grip work with a grip machine.
