Rockreation, a local climbing gym I have hosted competitions at before, asked me to host another one at their potluck event. I never know how many people will be there as I do these events at rockreation for free don't take sign ups ahead of time. It doesn't take much for me to throw 90kg & a few implements in my truck and drive down the road. Most everyone competing is under 20 and almost all are in school. The downside of doing grip at a pot luck is the greasy fingers! Anyway, we had 14 competitors, with mostly first timers. We did have a few returning lifters like Zion Kandel and Ryan Molinare in the 74kg aka "Heavyweight" class. Of the four girls competing 2 were teenagers and one was 30kg 9 year old (she hubbed a 20lb Jack Lalane Plate!)
Today, I didn't compete. 

The events were:
Payne by Jokabug to 6", this payne is Brand New and Very Very Slick!

Grabball 6" (probably my least favorite lift ive ever contested) I thought Climbers would be good at it because its kind of a sloper-like implement.

the final event was a Hub&Blob medley. I laid out a 2.5, 5, 10, 20, 25 (Jack Lalane) 25, 35 (International) Plates for hubbing and a Half 60, a Half 80 and a Blob-like rock that weighs 24 lbs.  Lifters had 45 seconds to lift as many as they could.

Great time. Not everyone could stay the whole time (moms came to pick up a lot of kids lol)
