Grip_and_Marx Posted May 14 Posted May 14 Hey y’all! I was curious about the Saxon bar and how you individual hand anatomy plays a part in how comfortable you are lifting thicker and thinner handles. I’ve heard some people have an easier time lifting thinner Saxon bars (which makes sense to me) and some people have an easier time lifting thicker Saxon bars (which confuses me). Can someone explain what exactly about your hand makes it so one is easier than the other? 1 Quote “Live, laugh, love... Forgive and forget. We don't do that around here. My hands are 8.5" in length, and 2" saxon has been a real pain for me. 3" saxon and the ironmind blockbuster came naturally to me and just feel, "right." I think longer fingers have a harder time with narrower pinch implements. That's where I feel the most strain. I've noticed that training narrow pinch carries over to wide pinch, but the inverse does not seem to be true. Your mileage may vary. 7 Quote I am good at grip.
PinchByPinch Posted May 14 Posted May 14 Yeah I do better on thicker pinch than narrow and I have long fingers. 1 Quote

I have the exact same feeling as this, 8.5" left and slightly smaller right. 2 Quote

stranger Posted May 14 Posted May 14 My hands are just below 8 inches. I own and train on a 3x4 Saxon and have pulled 221 in comp and 230 at home. The only time I've ever tried a 2x5 the bar was raw steel and not seasoned. I pulled 250. Narrow pinch is a lot better for me and I would agree with @dubyagrip that training more narrow helps wider pinch. I was just pinching plates for a few months trying g to get more consistent with 2x45's then when I had to start 3x4 Saxon I got a 10lb PR. So there's probably something to that. 2 Quote Goals Lift Fatman Blob Lift Inch Dumbbell -Done 10/13/24 Total Elite in Grip Instagram Profile
