Aroostook Barbell Posted January 24, 2024 Posted January 24, 2024 Hey guys. Years ago I made a DIY Heslep squeeze box after buying Jedd’s ‘Homemade strength’ DVDs. It’s great, but not at all smooth (that’s on me). Anyone have any tips for making one that is smooth, and doesn’t ‘grind’ up and down the bolts? Any tips would be much appreciated. I love this thing, but it’s pretty annoying to use the way I built it. Thanks guys. 1 Quote
Aroostook Barbell Posted January 24, 2024 Author Posted January 24, 2024 I thought about sliding the sleeve of a pen over the bolt so the spring wouldn’t grind up and down the bolt. 🤷🏼♂️ Quote
Scottex92 Posted January 24, 2024 Posted January 24, 2024 maybe filling the threads on the bolt up to the nut placement? 1 Quote
Cannon Posted January 24, 2024 Posted January 24, 2024 How much of the threads in the middle where the springs are get used? Instead of threaded rods, why not just use 1/4" bolts which only have threads at the end? 5 Quote
WorksinaPinch Posted January 24, 2024 Posted January 24, 2024 Use smooth rod and shaft collars like these: https://www.amazon.com/Zeberoxyz-Sets-Screw-Diameter-Automotive-Industry/dp/B0B4JR2DD4/ref=sr_1_7?crid=181SKK2Y9QGRZ&keywords=bushing%2Bwith%2Bset%2Bscrew&qid=1706117736&sprefix=bushing%2Bwith%2B%2Caps%2C131&sr=8-7&th=1 2 Quote
