EricMilfeld
Inspiring and informative article for the uninitiated, Mobster. Great pictures, too! I wish I had been so lucky as to stumble across one like yours ten years ago.

Bill Piche
More grip in the mainstream. Good job Steve! With the efforts of everyone here, you'll walk into a gym someday and might actually see people working grip. Hey, I can dream you know. Thanks for the mention of the gripboard too. OldGuy
With the efforts of everyone here, you'll walk into a gym someday and might actually see people working grip. Hey, I can dream you know. That reminds me of years ago when I trained at the Y. I was squatting in a power rack of all places (supposed to be for curls) when somebody remarked what could the strange exercise I was doing possibly be good for. Never saw anyone deadlift at the Y either.

Guest gripmaster316
Old Guy does the Y even allow deadlifts?? Some gym's don't even allow the most basic of lifts
OldGuy
I used to do whatever I wanted at the Y including using chalk! For the last 3 or 4 years I have worked out in my home gym. I no longer have any use for the Y or any of those big commercial gyms such as L A Fitness. I have long gotten back the money my gym cost me, by not needing to pay expensive membership subscriptions. Tom of Iowa2
I used to do whatever I wanted at the Y including using chalk! Of course you did whatever you wanted at the Y....They thought Rick Flair was 'in the house' and were afraid you might try to body slam them.....who was going to tell you to put your chalk away??
