My question is this, if I have only a RT and want to train for the INCH, can I expect , for example 172lbs on the rolling thunder to the same as a 172 lb inch dumbell? Or is one harder to lift than the other? thanks :whacked

They would seem to be the same on the face of it. In practice the RT does rotate, but not with as much force as a solid Inch dumbell even though the handle is also 2 3/8''. I would say that you would need to lift 225 lbs. on the RT in order to be able to raise the Inch. The RT lift is a much higher lift than the low to the ground Inch handle. This also makes it easier than a full deadlift with an Inch.

Well I'm glad I asked, I thought if anything it would be the other way around, since the RT handle rolls. Oh well back to training then. :ohmy

Based on my recent experience with a new rolling thunder I would guess that 225 - 230 is about right on RT before you can lift the inch
