DoctorOfCrush Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 I usually keep my videos on my training log, but I surprised myself on this one, so I decided to post it one here. I recently acquired a 134# CoC 2.5 and a 139# BBSM from Dreadnought, and I got them as well as my rated grippers back from Cannon today. I was like a kid at Christmas when I opened up my mailbox. I was really excited to try them out, and I would have been super pumped just closing the 134 because my previous best close is 126. Here's my first attempt at the 139 after closing the 134. Super freaking pumped. 4 Quote Perfect is the enemy of good. | fac aspera estō feroxque "I tell you white and you answer me salad" - Tiziano Becchio 2024 Goals: Consistency | BW 2-Hand Flask (currently 91%)| Next-Gen 95 Blob | Become the strongest hematopathologist in Nashville Right hand: MMS CoC #3 RGC 150 Left hand: MMS Tetting SM RGC 129

Fist of Fury Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 (edited) Nice work, I've been reading your log, you've made great progress for sure. As far as I can remember I think it took me almost 2 years to cover that 10 lbs. . . . Looks like I have a long haul ahead of me. If you're trying to close a COC#3 I would suggest that you use only COC-grippers to train with. If you use GHP, Baraban and Tetting you will get used to that type of knurling, which is more aggressive than COC. The GHP's are easier to close even if the rating and spread is the same as a COC because of the sharper knurling. Unless you're doing a very wide set then the GHP's might be harder. As of right now, the goal is just to touch the handles of heavier and heavier grippers, whatever that may be. The heaviest one I own is the 150 #3, and that is the one I would like to MM0 on eventually. When actually certing on the 3 becomes a realistic possibility, I plan on getting a spectrum of 3's (140-160) for that very consistency that you're talking about because the difference is pretty noticeable, like you said.
