Alawadhi Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Hey guys I received cool looking grippers made by Aaron! It is top quality I hope he does one for our sizes too. Anyway just receiving it gave it some squeezes. When I pinched closed it with my left it was okay. But righty I couldn't. My hands seems to shake a lot especially the thumb when parallel or beyond. I dislocated my right thumb long ago and along with it was some tear. That was maybe 14 or 15 years back. I got fully healed in around 2 years (yep) and anyways when training the TTK I don't have a problem. When doing static pinch like blobs I can lift with 45 York righty with no problem and my lift I give the 42.5 and good ride. My best ever with the 2 35's is righty two fingers and lefty 2 fingers 2 25's or little air with the 2 35's. Just an inch or so above ground. So this means my right thumb is stronger. But when attempting to close grippers with pinch style my right thumb shakes a lot and seem to shake a lot. Does this has to do with injury or what? Oh yes my left thumb extensor is stronger than my right hand extensor also maybe because of the injury. Mikael Siversson Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 I do those reverse style but these day only 6-8 weeks before a contest. They will increase my pinch numbers significantly but tend to kill the joint at the base of the thumb if I do them all the time. I think they prime the CNS more than anything. Quote
Alawadhi Posted January 12, 2016 Author Posted January 12, 2016 Haven't you had this shaking problem with one of your thumbs? Quote Read about me in my biography. Mikael Siversson Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Not doing them reverse style which is a more natural angle for the thumb. Can't remember if I had any 'shaking' doing them the way do did in that video clip. 1 Quote
Alawadhi Posted January 14, 2016 Author Posted January 14, 2016 Thanks Mikael! Seems like a rare thing as I thought others had this too Quote Read about me in my biography. Mikael Siversson Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Looking through my training log I noticed that the first time I ever tried and successfully 1HP 4x10k eleiko plates (6 Dec 2014) I was doing inverted gripper closes with a pinch grip using a #S for 3 sets of 20-25 reps left and 35-40 reps right hand after warming up with a #G.
