I passed it but the only thing I found was it was passed to the closing hand by the non closing hand. I don't believe this affected the attempt at all but maybe the guys who failed it were sticklers about the "table" in Tns.

I didn't vote, but this would have been a clarification I would have sought before voting. To me it was a No Set close, but not a Table No Set close.

Well a NS for me is when the offhand places one handle at the sweet spot of your palm before you grip the gripper.

A TNS when you have to place the handle in your palm with just your gripper hand. The off hand can not aid.

That's a good close.

I think this right here is a great example of why the votes should be public or at the very least if your going to fail someone's attempt you should have to say why.

Yeah, I don't think anyone is arguing that it wasn't a good close, just the type of close it was.

The off-hand in this case acted like a stationary object in much the same way a table would, slightly different maybe but the actual positioning was all done by the gripping hand so an argument that it isn't equivalent to a TNS to me doesn't hold much water. I'd bet $100 he can do the same using a table based on that video and it would be no different.

I didn't vote. And I don't see where it would have mattered - but Table No Set really does mean exactly that. Any variation from a strict interpretation of any rule changes the feat in some way - either great or small. It's why judging often seems so anal in competition - but this is why rules are written and need to be followed. It was a "No Set" close - but it was not a "Table No Set" close.

When people used to ask him how it was he became so incredibly strong, it was always the same, "strengthen your mind, the rest will follow". The Mighty Atom

Are their written rules for the TNS? If not I'd have to agree with the point you made that this is why rules need to be written as otherwise we will run into varying opinions, none of which being correct or incorrect due to a lack of clarity. If the rules say however that the gripper must begin on a table and the entire feat completed with only the gripping hand and without interference from any other object or body part then he would fail. It comes down to if/how things are written but it was my understanding that such hasn't been done. For the future it would be advisable to have those rules though just to clear things up a bit.

Yes, I had a recent video where it was mentioned that amount of weight I was pulling was in question because it wasn't shown clearly in the video. I like that kind of input so that in the future I can make videos that are more clear for feats on the Gripboard. So I agree if one presses 'fail' in the voting one should express why they voted that way.

Done:

- Close #2 COC

- Hold two 45 Hamptons with Hub Grip to full extension, simultaneously both sides

Well I think It should be stated in the rules that a No Set close and Table No Set close are basically the same thing!

He clearly used his crushing hand to position the gripper, not his off hand.

Good close dude!

I miss your old funny cigarsmokingvideos.

They were funny as hell.

Congrats.

Looked easy!

Grip goals for 2016 - we'll see how many of these I can cross off;

Grippers; Cert GHP7, CCS 140, 146, 153 and 157lbs CoC3, MMS and 20mmBS 180lbs CoC3,5.

Pinch; Clean 20kg blockweight, curl 20kg blockweight, 1h euro pinch 45kg.

In my view, once he took his off-hand from the gripper and held it with just his closing hand, and then walked the fingers into place, it became a Table No Set. Didn't seem necessary to split the hairs, once he did that.
