Electron Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 Hey folks, I just saw this video on youtube: It's mostly strongman-oriented, but it seems like they're looking for competitors. This is a perfect opportunity for us to shine! Hopefully somebody here sees this and can show these guys what's up. I may beat them in the RT hold, but I ain't standing up with any of that other weight, so I'm looking at you guys who are strong all around: Eric Milfeld, Jedd Johnson, Andrew Durniat, Kody Burns, Eric Roussin, VA Dave, or Chris Rice and Rich Sorin could represent the masters! I don't have any of the details except for they're holding the next one on 1/3/16 and they need some strong hands. Check out the top comment on the video for more info. 2 Quote Yori Skutt #1 Goal: MM0#2 Goal: Adv. Tuck Planche#3 Goal: First Elite Athlete in 66k5'9" - 140lbs

Electron Posted November 5, 2015 Author Posted November 5, 2015 I would love to see a relatively small grip specialist go and wreck the strongmen. Eric, you're getting back down to 74k! Fist of Fury Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 I would love to see a relatively small grip specialist go and wreck the strongmen. Eric, you're getting back down to 74k! The day has come. Unfortunately this wasn't much of a grip contest. RT was the only true grip test they did. Other exercises has to much to do with full body strength. Each event need to be isolated to the hands and forearms as much as possible otherwise I don't think a small guy will have much of a chance against big strongmen competitors. Quote
Royz Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 Tssss.... why are they doing the axle deadlift with a mixed grip?? Great find btw! 1 Quote

Grind Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 (edited) Haha these video's are made by strengthshop.de. They are making these for some years now and are more or less a sort of promotional video's and not really a competition. It's just for show. They also did a lot of comparison video's between strongmen, powerlifters, bodybuilders and weight lifters to see who was the best squatter or deadlifter. Edited November 5, 2015 by Grind Quote

burkhardmacht Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 I know one of the guys talking, he is a personal trainer. He worked at the gym where I once used to train. One day I showed him and his partner (vice BB NABBA world champ) a 53kg InchDB. His partner was able to DL the DB with each hand (max effort) but the personal trainer refused to do so. How things can change over 10 years.... amazing.... 2 Quote "[...], this is a brutish-looking cast iron globe dumbbell with the short, fat handle that, for most people, ensures that it will never leave the ground.
