My First Coc#3 Close & More

I have had this Single Stamp CoC#3 gripper for close to 2 decades but never got serious about closing it till recently. Granted according to Cannon it is the lowest CoC#3 he has ever rated at 135lbs, see: CoC#3 Picture but it still felt good to get this monkey off my back. If you use the HD mode and expand the screen you can see the 135lb Cannon tag briefly before the 1 second mark (sorry my mistake) & the close from the 13 to 15 second mark. Play: Scott's first COC 3 close

Fortunately I was also able to close a HG 300 rated at 144.25lbs.. Expanded and in HD it appears I got the close at the 24-25 second mark. Play: Scott closes the HG 300

Lastly I tried to close my Tetting Super Master Hybrid rated at 135lbs.. My pinky was blocking some of the small handle but I think I closed it at the 15 second mark. Play: Scott Attempting the 135lb Hybrid This one doesn't have HD though.

These were all PR's for me & were filmed this last Saturday at Bob Sundin's backyard grip practice in Charlotte NC. James Retarides was filming. Both Bob & James and rest of my team are on fire and real inspirations. See:

Bob has not put up some of his most recent videos but he is breaking new ground as well.

Congrats!

PR's are the thing.

PR's are the reward that tell you that you are on the right path.

Everything else is a comparison that probably does not matter.

You are lucky to be able to train with Odin.

Thank you Chez! and yes I feel very fortunate and humbled to train with them.

Looks like you just put on a great competition.

Your ability to close & 'no set' high poundage grippers is mind boggling.

Congrats!

Congratulations on your #3 close Scott; that may be the longest I've heard of anyone sticking with a grip strength goal-very inspirational for sure!

Scott adds a lot to our practices. He is a chiropractor and is very knowledgeable about health and nutrition and has helped me a lot in dealing with my back problems-which has helped my training! Scott has to drive a considerable distance and shows a lot of dedication and drive to show up as often as he can. He is very strong and has a lot of additional latent strength that will be expressed with ongoing focused practice and learning what works best for him regarding training volume, frequency and exercise selection.
