eastNYgoon
My very first #3 close. What makes the close even cooler for me is that my buddy lent me this single stamp #3 which was also his first #3 close. So a unique gripper with good mojo. I'm PSYCHED
Hubgeezer
Nice close. That gripper might be 10 years old and it looks brand new. Has it been tucked away somewhere all these years?

Autolupus
Nice close. That gripper might be 10 years old and it looks brand new. Has it been tucked away somewhere all these years? The gripper has to be over 14 years old, could be as old as 20! Edited March 8, 2015 by Autolupus

Thanks. My buddy bought it a long time ago and hasn't really used it. I think he bought #s 1-4, but lent the 1 and 4 and hasn't gotten em back yet. He didn't realize how cool the single stamps where until I recently told him. Now he's hunting down that 4. nice close, congrats Thanks. Nice close. I'll ask him when he got it. The springs were a little rusty when he first gave it to me but I 3&1d it. Congrats, nice open set and a good strong close. Very cool gripper as well. Chez
Nice close man. Spend time working on your set technique since it will help you mash even harder grippers.

When I first started training this is the "technique" I taught myself. Now I have a lot of trouble unlearning it. Been practicing the correct form with lighter grippers Edited March 8, 2015 by eastNYgoon
eastNYgoon
My buddy said he bought the #3 in 2000. He also has a #1 and #2 from 1998 which are the same style single stamp. I actually have the #2. It definitely feels harder than my current #2. But the single stamp #3 feels easier than my current #3. So much variation!

It definitely feels harder than my current #2. But the single stamp #3 feels easier than my current #3. So much variation! I bought the 1 and 2 while I was in college and snowboarding a lot, as I remember bringing them to the shop my friends worked at, so they were 1998/99 winter. I got the #3 when i first started work after college in the summer. I remember opening the 3# and closing immediately. and being totally surprised. I chalked it up to being crazy hot from summer and being on the ups truck. Thing was hot to hold when I first opened it. The #4 I'm trying to track down I purchases maybe 2 years after that. They didn't even have a 4 when I got the 1,2,3. That 4 I could get to maybe .5" from touching. I gave it away when I hurt my hand playing with it. I know who has it but he's not really on facebook and the business he used to own doesn't have a phone number anymore, even though it shows up on google. Sigh. JaredWith1R
Now I have a lot of trouble unlearning it I have the same problem setting hard grippers. I picked up an Extended Handle GM for negatives, and the extra length makes setting much easier. It even helped me practice my sets so I can do them much better with regular grippers. I would recommend trying that out, maybe. As always, nice crush, bro. Keep it up.
