EJ Livesey Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 (edited) Been a long long time since i tried a shoe, 8 months maybe longer. This is something Ivan and i had talked about a few times. Here is the shoe, its a slow bend. I wanted to make sure i wasn't going to tweak anything or hurt myself. Thank you Ivan, you were the one that gave me the push. I guess all the super heavy bench presses and chicken is working, lol. EJ Livesey Posted December 3, 2014 Author Posted December 3, 2014 Damn that's a nice bend. Wish I could do that after a 8month lay off! This HS ripped my left oblique and rib cage apart. Took me 16 months to heal and another 6 months before I could bend a shoe. During that time I lost interest. And in maybe three years I've bent maybe 5 shoes total, not including this one. Mike Sharkey Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 That's just INSANE base strength. If anyone hasn't actually held this shoe it's just a monster. Only a few people have ever reached this level and you're just like oh yeah maybe I'll bend a shoe this month lol. 1 Quote

wulfgeat Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Dude, congrats on bending the shit out of the HS that messed you up. I'm sure it was more gratifying to do than to watch, but it was incredibly gratifying to watch. Thanks for sharing. Quote

Tim71 Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 Wow. I only dabbled in shoes but that's a crazy bend - especially considering that it's not something that you specialize in. Great strength. Quote
EJ Livesey Posted December 6, 2014 Author Posted December 6, 2014 Thanks for all the comments everyone. My body is adapting very well to the heavy lifting and bending. I feel stronger now than I have in years. I may try a 5xtra soon and even try my luck at some long bar stuff. I can only wait and see how I feel and what my body wants to bend. I think I will use shoes and possibly long bars as my escape from tedious gold nail and iron grip 250 training. Quote Junior steel bender in training The only limits are the ones YOU set. What does training for the gold look like? Are you working with more 8-3/8 stock? Quote My YouTube channel - grip, and shop projects.

What does training for the gold look like? Are you working with more 8-3/8 stock? Yes it is 8 3/8" stock and I've mapped out the correct progression as well. I'm also using a modified DO technique that rotates my knuckles into my chest more. 1 Quote Junior steel bender in training The only limits are the ones YOU set.
