He has still got unreal grip strength... even after a long haul of little to no training due to nagging injuries! I'm humbled and inspired after every time we train...big workout - lots of solid work and a few PRs; hands are smoked!... i'll do a full write up in my workout log soon...

Thanks again for the training tonight Jon ! Felt great to be able to kick up the intensity a bit. You dont even know how much I appreciate having you to train with. I cant say enough of how you've kept me motivated throughout the last year struggling with recovery. Im very thankful for being able to train with you this long ! Hope them Texas boys appreciate what they're getting ! Cheers to future grip PR's bro !!

Thanks David ! Dont have any rafters around my house. It'd be nice to be able to bust out a few more of them bad boys someday. I was pleasantly surprised to nail a couple.

it looked like you were using the 2 rafters next to each other, right? not ones that were further apart to get some chest squeeze involved? that's super hard core.

Nice work on all that. I have rafters in my garage. Hmmmm might have to try. But at my weight I doubt it.

Thanks Brent ! Yeah your right. No chest involvement at all. Im guessing 16 to 18 inches apart maybe. Ive seen some other guys on youtube goin a little wider. Maybe it makes it easier ? I'm not sure though. It sure felt pretty tough. Edited by kodydelone

Very impressive display of strength! I was really impressed with the rafter pullups also, I don't think I've seen anyone at that bw do them so easily.

Nice job Kody, how's that shoulder doing?

Thanks Tom ! Slowly getting better. I never imagined being down this long. Feels great to be easin back into grip. Just being able to handle 225 on my shoulders again without pain for squatting has made me feel a little better.

Hows your training been treatin you ? You competing in King Kong ?

Training's been pretty good, staying healthy, so I can't complain. I am competing in the King Kong, never trained a lot of the events directly so it should be fun prepping for it

Thanks man ! I'm trying to do it without anymore injuries this time. If I had the option to do the shoulder surgery all over again I don't think I would. Maybe for some it would be ok but for someone who can't stand to not train it is pure torture bro. If I can give you any words of advice, stay balanced in your training, warm up properly before attempting to do everything even if you feel good, don't become one dimensional, don't just do all gripper work, or pinch. Balance is the key to get the most out of grip in the shortest amount of time without the injuries. You couldn't have told me that before 2012. If you don't learn this now, the pain you are setting yourself up for will learn you in the future. Learn from me if at all possible. It's not a road I wish to go down ever again ! Best of luck in your grip training !
