I imagine it would be easier to just make a replica. What is the minimum bid though?

Jared Goguen
That's ridiculous, you could do home smelting for less then that.
steve0
Normally when it is just a buy it now they will accept offers through pm's. Got a few good things that way
Brad L
That's a rare York plate, but $2500?!? Wow!
Hubgeezer
I guess if there were "only 8" out there, it would be worth something to collectors. But no one actually knows how many there are. What if there are 10 others floating around? For a "collector" to be purchasing something off of ebay, they would have to have darn deep pockets. I don't think a buyer like that exists, not for barbell plates that did not belong to anyone of an historic nature in Iron History. The Seller is going to find out if I am right or not. And, if I am wrong, well good for the Buyer and the Seller. How much did Ray Guy get for his Super Bowl Rings when he filed bankruptcy a few years ago? Seems like 5% of one ring would be a proportionate value. But what do I know, I am just an accountant... Okay, I looked it up, did the math. The York Hub, using the "5% of a Super Bowl Ring" formula, is worth $1,603.60. Edited August 7, 2014 by Hubgeezer
steve0
Price aside, is there anyone out there that has the potential to lift it?
Mike Sharkey
I would say no. The weight combined with the size of the hub and the slope would take someone with absolutely giant hands.
king crusher
It's cool just not 2500 dollars cool.
jvance
I don't think bigger hands would help much... Maybe a big palm with shorter fingers would give the best horsepower at the wheels so to speak for this particular test of hub strength

EJ Livesey
Hi folks... my name is Mathew and I have the same passion of body building as you all do...but imp. note for beginners developing grip strength. First, measure your grip strength. Here are some grip strength values: Men: 88 pounds – needs improvement 105 pounds – average grip strength 141 pounds or more – exceptional grip strength Train according to your score, and exert effort to break any plateaus you might encounter along the way. It’s important that you measure your progress effectively because this will give you the proper motivation to continue training. Troll?? Bot?? What do you guys think? barbe705
I think it could go. wide and sloped but, it does have ribs which helps a lot. I think you would have to be able to train with it rather than just get strong enough and do it on the day.
