i havent cleaned my COC grippers since the day ive had them. ive had them for roughly 3 years now. just wondering what i should do to clean the springs? and what sort of oil should i put on them. should i use WD-40 or something like that?

rookie question... i did use the search but didnt find anything.

Thanks.

no worries. just come across an old thread that tells you how to clean the handles and the spring.

i would imagine a light oil, maybe like the oil you might use on a hair clipper. maybe wd40 is too heavy.

WD-40 is perfect for grippers.

Glad to hear it. i had a look around to see what i had here, and my mother gave me this stuff called 'Astonish'. its to clean ovens, pans but works well on any metal. i used an old toothbrush aswell to scrub off the dirt.

heres a pic: http://pics2.ds-static.com/prodimg/397322/300.JPG

It brought the handles up like new, and got alot of the old chalk and rust off the spring. after doing that i sprayed the handles with WD-40. Now my grippers are sparkling and oiled up ready for my next workout.

Josh, it was actually an old thread i came across where you mentioned using the WD-40, so thanks for that.

I would not advise using wd40 on the handels

just the spring. You dont want your handles to be slick.

Just clean the spring with wd

does it drop by much? what im getting at is, is it going to weaken the spring, or just restore it to the strength it should be?

Thanks.
