Massey
I haven't used this in about a year just using the RT and grippers did it today after a RT workout and got 75lbs is there any record list for the blockbuster?

Massey
Check out ironminds website it's a block that allows you to add weight to it with and attachable loading pin
Paul Savage
I don't know if it's an official record but i think 100lbs has been lifted.
Hubgeezer
I looked up the IM description, and it mentioned "crinkle finish". It must have been changed when the hub was changed a few years back. My problem with the old super smooth finish is that it led to very inconsistent results. I could easily see strong guys doing 100 lb. with the new finish. I have had the "old" one for a dozen years. I may have to look at the new one.
Massey
I've have the old one real slick
slazbob
Brookfield did 100lb with the old one. It was in one if those fillings in an old Milo or catalog. I did 70lb on the old one back in the 90's so I could believe John doing 100lb.
slazbob
...with the old slick block, I always did my weak hand first, and then the stronger hand after; with the moisture from my weak hand going first, my strong hand had a better grip. The moisture mixed with chalk, was the only way to get a good grip on that.
Anthony C.
I have the old one too. I'd like to get the new one or maybe a sorinex one, but I doubt I could find anyone who wanted to buy the old, slick one
slazbob
I'd keep it, Anthony. I'm going to pull mine out next workout.... Haven't used it forever.
Hubgeezer
I imagine if John Brookfield did 100 lbs., it was on the slick one that preceded the last slick one. There was a relatively slender version before the super-jumbo width came out. I think late 90s was the thinner one, and the thick guy came out around 2001. There was a 2002 contest in a St. Louis restaurant that Wade won. I think the device was pretty new at that time. The reason I say that about John is that his hands were average/smallish and he could have certainly manhandled the first version, but it would be a Burke-like guy to pull that off on the super wide one... I also have both the slick.and new version of the hub and notice a huge difference in my max between the two

Looking through some old Milo's... I saw a lot of stuff I'd forgotten about... Couldn't find the blurb about this feat, but saw John was getting the no.4 down to less than a 1/4" back in '95; Richard walking 168' with a 51.lb total on the Ironmind hub.and hanging from a 1/1/4" chin bar with one hand, while holding 235lbs in the other; body weight around 275lb. Good stuff, then and NOW!
Anthony C.
I wish I wouldve bought the holle it up dumbbell back when it was in production. Seems like itd be a pretty cool gadget to train with. Although I guess yiu can make your own with some slick pipe
slazbob
That had an offset handle... Wish I'd got one, too.
Anthony C.
That had an offset handle... Wish I'd got one, too. Yeah I read holle once said that and grippers is all he does. Not sure where I read that though
Massey
The one I use is the slick fat one and I think with some dedicated workouts on I can get to 100lbs
Wade Gillingham
I did 65lbs in plates to win that contest so somewhere above 70lbs. We had no chalk and it was a St. Louis BBQ joint in the summer after eating so conditions were terrible. I have since done 107lbs on the blockbuster which was thick smooth style. I haven't trained it for a long time.
