EricMilfeld
These will keep the crossbar from not only falling forwards or backwards, but to the side, as well. http://www.gripboard.com/index.php?app=galleryℑ=11382

EricMilfeld
Thanks, guys. I've been stealing ideas and trying to improve where I can to make the event run a little more smoothly in a contest setting. The spin collars are bolted to the pipe. I think I stole that idea from the rig at Nationals. My new Euro is the Napalm Pinch. Tomorrow night will be my first go with it.

Tank Andrade
great idea !! think you will be seeing this a lot now.
barbe705
that looks pretty easy to make. I've been meaning to do something better than a bent piece of bamboo taped to packing foam for years now. those would be good for rep work to. climber511
Eric - what's the cross bar made of?
EricMilfeld
The bolting of the collars was a great idea, Chris! The crossbar is made of fiberglass, which cost $1.99 at Home Depot. And yes, I did have a Euro, but I sold it to Yori. But now I have one with lightweight tabbed spacers! Pretty slick.

Electron
Cannon, I think I remember you sold off your 2HP too? Or did you keep it? Reason I ask is because I'm starting a collection... Yes, these puppies are all mine.

Yes, these puppies are all mine. Yeah, mine went to Canada. Now I kind of want to get one back. I might try some training with holds on 2x35s with a pipe through. I've been doing mostly thick pinch and that has been treating me much better. I developed a nagging strain in my left forearm that 2HP was guaranteed to flare up. thick pinch doesn't do that. If it's any consolation, the Euro device found a good home.
Jedd Johnson
Eric, I really like that whole set-up brother. Every time I see a Napalm Pinch in someone's gym, I want to get rid of my rubber inserts and replace them with tabbed plastics. How did you cut the PVC? I am not real good with tools. Thanks. Jedd
Cannon
I am not real good with tools. This is shocking to me. I would have guessed you built your own house. With hand tools. That were rusty.
climber511
Jedd - and tools? Not power tools - or not in the same room anyway :).

EricMilfeld
Kody, thank you! Yeah, it was hard not to bang out some reps yesterday, but I must practice restraint with my contest so close. Jedd, for cross-cutting the PVC I used my power mitre box. To cut the notches I clamped the pipe to my bench and used a circular saw for the straight cuts. For the semi-circle portion of the notches I used a dremel with a sandpaper drum. I tried the whole setup just now and am very pleased with it. I also rounded over the edges of the fiberglass rod, which prevents it from potentially sticking if tilted at a sever angle.
